My dropbox account is deleted
Hello,
I have used dropbox for several years (my dropbox mail address was: [Removed as per Community Guidelines]).
The problem is that I cannot access my account since 2021. Sep. 2.
Resetting password did not work. (No e-mail was arrived from dropbox.)
Today, I tried to register dropbox account with the same mail address. Surprisingly, an account with the same mail address was created. Maybe my original account with my data file was deleted.
I want to restore my data and original account.
Thank you.

- In that case, the account sounds like it was fully deleted, and this is a new account.
However, the team admin might still have the option to transfer your files on the deleted account to another member on the team, including the admin themselves.
That member could then share those files to you so you can download them or add them to your current account.
- GambyExplorer | Level 4since yesterday I'm receiving a message when logging in that my account was deleted and I didn't give such an order, the account and the main administration team members continue to work normally

You should contact your team admin. They should be able to restore your account as long as it was deleted within the last 7 days.

no, on the contrary, I am the team administrator, the account that was deleted was mine, the team member's continues normally

I exactly encountered the same issue with dropbox... It denied me having any account and asked me to create a new one which i did.. thinking that it would restore my data but it did not.
We need assistance from dropbox engineer to resolve the issue.. and thanks for keeping our memories- MarkSuper User II
Hi alanazim1990
Dropbox support cannot restore deleted accounts. If it was a personal one as soon as its deleted via the website thats instant and permanent. If it was a business one you need to get the Business Admins to do what Hannah has already said.

Dear Dropbox community,
I've been using dropbox several years without any problem until today.
A friend of me (also dropbox user) wanted to share with me a folder. I got an email from dropbox asking if I want te join their team. Since I was in a hurry I clicked on 'Join your team'.
What happened next was receiving several emails from Dropbox
- Your Dropbox Plus account has changed
- The Admin has deleted you as a member from the team
After that my Dropbox account was gone, so I had no access to any file, not on my desktop, nor via the browser. When I wanted to log in, it said 'account is cancelled'.
On top of this: no possibility for support.
After I had a call with my friend who has sent me the invite, he cancelled the suspension from his team.
The situation is now that I got acces to my files again, but as a member from his Dropbox business profile.
All I want is to restore everything to how it was.
Can anyone help me how I can do this?
Many thanks in advance for your help,
Tom- RichSuper User II

All I want is to restore everything to how it was.Your friend needs to convert your account back to an individual account. If he just removes you from the team, it deletes your account and he only has seven days to restore it. He must convert your account instead. Send him the link above.

Typically, once an account has been deleted it's not possible to recover the account or the files that were in it. The exception to this is if you were a member of a Business team account, in which case the team admin can restore your account if it was deleted within the last seven days.
How, and when, was your account deleted?
- JayDropbox StaffHi bjchoi, thanks for joining the Community!
As you were able to create an account with the same email, it means that the original account has been deleted from the system. In general, this means that it wouldn't be possible to restore the original account.
Was that previous account part of a Dropbox Business team, or was it a private, personal account?
This will help me to assist further!- bjchoiExplorer | Level 4
Thank you for reply.
I was a member of Dropbox Business team.
I requested our team's administrator to downgrade my Dropbox Business account to Dropbox Plus using the following manual: (https://help.dropbox.com/ko-kr/accounts-billing/plans-upgrades/convert-individual-plan)
and our team's administrator follows the procedure stated in the above link.
Since then, I cannot access my account. I think there was an error when converting my account.
- JayDropbox StaffThose steps would convert a member on a Dropbox Business plan to a personal account away from the team.
If they didn't choose the option to 'Convert to individual Dropbox Basic account instead', then they would have deleted the account from the system completely.
Generally, the email is reserved for 7 days to allow the admin to recover the account.
In the account you're logged into, is it definitely a brand new account with no files or events in the history?
