Free Account Hacked - Password and e-mail changed

I think someone got the password to my Dropbox account and changed the associated password and e-mail account.  Is there anything I can do?

Thanks

edit: I see someone else had the same problem, I'll contact support.  Thanks

Thanks Mark.  I'm sorry, in my haste I forgot to add that they apparently changed the email associated with the account.  Any way to handle that situation?

Hey there Litenfiat - thanks for joining the discussion here and sorry to hear about this.

Since you've already contacted our Support team via email, could you let us know your ticket IDs in order to look them up in our system?

      Thanks a bunch!

Received an email from dropbox on Sunday that my email has been changed to someone else - no idea who.

Cannot log back in and cannot get access to my account.

Tried to log a customer support but getting nothing - this was all on Sunday.

Urgently need to get access to my account

My account was hacked by someone with access to my ipad that my kid had access to the password.  They changed all my passwords and setup 2 step security protocols to their own emails and phone numbers, so I have no access to my email.  So when I try to login or reset the password to dropbox, of course it goes to my email, which I no longer have access to.  Is there any support for Bad hats doing this to people? I am sure that I am not alone with this predicament!

    Thanks ...

    Danny

Hi aonderwater, I hope you're doing well!

You've got a new email, and I'll be happy to help you further!

In addition, Dannytech, keep in mind that without access to the email address, our hands are tied as to what we can do.

If the account was a free one, the best thing you can do is create a new one.

        Hi Megan,
I've had the same issue just yesterday.   I could no longer log into my account (app or web) via email and could not reset my password as it said my account has been deleted.   But, the files/links I've shared with colleagues are still active; I can still click on those links to powerpoint presentations etc.   That's funny as I was about to upgrade my account when this happened.   FYI - I do still retain access to my email....and I had to create a new DropBox account with my work email just to send this reply/request in the forum.   Please help!  Thanks so much!!
