Hi! I'm an independent contractor for a company, and I set up a Dropbox account with my new email address. However, I upgraded my freelance business account to Dropbox Plus and would like to make the contractor email a secondary email on that upgraded account. That way, I'll be able to see files/folders shared with either email address in Dropbox, and the upgraded plan will give me more storage space and features. Because the contractor email is already in use with an account, it won't let me add it as a secondary email in the other account. Should I delete that account? It's warning me that deleting the account means I will no longer have access to anything previously shared with that email address. Only a few folders have been shared so far, and I could have someone share them again, but I want to be sure I'm doing this the right way before I do something irreversible. I appreciate any insights you can provide! Thanks!Solved876Views0likes2CommentsHow many devices do I use for my account?
I have Dropbox on 3 devices, one is my iPhone. When I try to move a photo there, it says I've used all the devices allowed without paying for an upgrade. However, the iPhone is already one of the 3 devices. I don't know how to see which other device Dropbox may think I have given it access to. The unhelpful "Help" section says to access the Admin Console on the left of the page (on my PC screen). There is no Admin Console and no pictures anywhere showing what it might look like. Can anyone explain to me how I see which devices Dropbox thinks I have given access to? Thank you, TolkyynSolved319Views0likes2CommentsCan't Change Email Address
I'm trying to change the email address for my account but something's not working right. I went to Settings and clicked to edit email. From there I get a popup asking for the new email address, a field to confirm the new address, and my account password. I've filled in the info and clicked the Update Email button and get a message saying, "You've been invited to a team, so sign up with the invite in your email." The email I get is an invitation to join somebody else's business account! I've tried several times and get the same results each time. I also tried to send an email to Dropbox support but get fed into an endless loop of, Click here to talk to support, click one of these options which takes you to a bunch of articles with a link leading back to the first support page. I've been unable to find an email address or any way to actually contact Dropbox.3.1KViews1like9CommentsHow can two users access their own Dropbox accounts on the same macOS laptop?
I need to set up a Macbook to work with multiple accounts. Two people use the laptop, they have separate admin accounts on the machine. Also the two people have 2 indipendent Dropbox Plus accounts. I need each one to be able to use their own dropbox account when loggin in on the laptop. Is this possible? Is this straighforward? Are there any cautionary steps to take? Do each user need to disconnect from his Dropbox account before handing the machine to the other person? These people have 2 separate accounts on MacOs and they don't know each other's password for accessing their user on the laptopSolved1.1KViews0likes4CommentsImpact of SSO on collaborators outside of my organization/domain
We have discovered that some of our marketing staff had set-up Dropbox accounts on their own to use when collaborating with an outside marketing partner. We are exploring the possibility of upgrading the account so that we are able to secure the application with SSO. If we were to do so, thus forcing the internal staff to authenticate via SSO, what would be the impact to the outside marketing partner team members who have been invited in to collaborate? Would they still have access following a forced MFA process to their corporate email address or would I need to establish a network account for them within my environment to honor the SSO requirement?Solved556Views0likes3CommentsHow to change phone number on account
I just had to use my emergency code to sign in after changing my phone number. Now how do I change my phone number on the account so I don't get locked out again. But I can't find a place to do it. Can anyone help? Also, how do I turn off this blasted two-factor ID? It is more trouble than it is worth.2.9KViews0likes3CommentsChanging Email: says email already taken.
I am trying to change the email on my account to my new work email. I established the account with a personal account. Thank you6.5KViews0likes12CommentsDice captcha is an atrocity
The "add dice up to 14" captcha - five times in a row - with a time limit - grainy images - that resets if you get one single wrong answer is absolutely not a test of me "being human". It is a frustrating and ridiculous waste of time that is not disability friendly and simply impossible under some internet conditions. Personally, I already detest dropbox and only use it when forced to by external collaborators. Every time I am forced to use it there is some fresh hell you have invented to make the experience even worse. Doing fieldwork where I had patchy internet and a small screen this captcha was impossible for me. It delayed file sharing for about a week. Get rid of it. I can only imagine how impossible this must be for someone with dyslexia, and there doesn't seem to be any way to ask for an alternate test. Frankly I can't believe someone hasn't sued you for discrimination yet.5.8KViews9likes6Comments
