Hi all, Accidentally, I clicked on spam email link received from fake Dropbox email address. Now, I lost access to all my Dropbox files, when I signed in back, it asked to reset the password, and then my business account downgraded to normal account and no files in it. Now, I cant reach customer care as its automatically downgraded basic account. Raised the issue with customer care through support portal, no one reached yet. One executive on the sales chat said, they will contact me on my phone, since 4 days they didn't reach me either. Complained to Dropbox Abuse team last week, no response from them. Can anyone help me, how can I contact Dropbox representative in this case? or Any suggestions how can i get the access back to my Dropbox?20Views0likes1CommentZero Knowledge Encryption
I find that many Cloud services offer encryption during transfer to the service and encryption at the destination. Dropbox does this too. Unfortunately, the keys used at the destination are available to Dropbox. What would make Dropbox unique is if it would offer Zero Knowledge encryption at the client. That way all files are encrypted at the client with the customer retaining the keys. Why is this important? There can be bugs during transfer even if encryption is used (remember the famous OOPS with caches on internet servers offering up unencrypted data?). Also, the government can force Dropbox to deliver user data (or it may be compromised by hackers). Dropbox with Zero Knowledge Encryption would be a market leading solution that would drive a great preference over OneDrive, Google Drive and others. It would be the only way I would be comfortable putting my files on the cloud.Solved2.9MViews186likes30CommentsCan you change the data locations for Basic accounts?
Hello, Given the increasing focus and concern on data transfers and data storage locations it makes sense the Dropbox should extend the option to choose the storage location on all accounts not just the ones that are paid for. I appreciate that this feature is a way to differentiate accounts between free to paid (and a way to make money) but the rights of the data subject are still crucial. I know Dropbox have all the relevant documentation and standards however that is not the same as having your data in your own country/region.637Views0likes12CommentsCan't get the code to access my account because email address is closed

It would be great if it were possible to set a user so they cannot perform bulk deletions or moves of files. One of the users, who does not have admin rights, accidentally moved a folder with 350,000 files. As a result, we lost the functionality of the links when returning the folder back. It would therefore be great if some users could be restricted so that it is not possible to move or delete files beyond a certain quota.228Views1like3Comments'Too many incorrect attempts' error when trying to change my password.
Hi Support Team, I'm going to change the password of my Dropbox account. Let me do it by removing the warning in your system stating that, "Too many incorrect attempts. Please try again in a few minutes." It's been a few hours already since I attemptedto login. How long should I wait for this? It's very urgent on my end. I've been waiting for a long hours now. Thanks!77Views0likes5CommentsHow can I rotate users with a fixed number of licenses in a business plan?
We are small organisation where three people from the management should share documents. We decided to purchase Dropbox Business with 3 licenses. One person created the Dropbox account, and automatically became ADMIN. His email become the address used by Dropbox to communicate the issues affecting the whole team. Other people were invited by admin via invitation process. Now - in this organisation, management regularly rotate - one or more people leave the management, other people enter management. At any given time, there are at most 3 people in the management. What is the correct procedure to manage Dropbox accounts in this scenario? For example - when Admin person is replaced in the management, how to transfer ADMIN role to differrent user? There are two scenario variants: a) tranfer ADMIN role to already existing user b) transfer ADMIN role to newly added user - this, however, temporarily increases the number of users by 1 🙂 How to solve this?60Views0likes5CommentsI got an email saying I don't have enough space, but that's not true. Is this legit?
i have recieved a strange email from this address no-reply@em-s.dropbox.com it says: "There's limited space available in your Dropbox. Even adding just one more file might stop your account from syncing and being able to access them when you need to." that is not true, i have much more space, i thought it is a spam and i came here to check what you say about it and i saw that you say it is one of your addresses and i don't get it. can you please help me understanding this? thanks297Views0likes7Comments
