Print Screen doesn't save screenshots to dropbox anymore
I've used prtsc to capture my screenshots for like years now but for some reason dropbox doesn't recognize it anymore. The settings in dropbox are correct and its not a hardware problem b/c I can still press prtsc and then ctrl+v into paint.
I uninstalled and then re-installed Dropbox but the problem remains...
Any solutions? If it's OneDrive trying to take over the function, it is doing a damn good work, because I am sold!
Edit: Yeap, OneDrive working perfectly...
Edit no 2: The "solution" that worked for me was this. I disabled the function in the DropBox preferences and then I enabled the same function in the OneDrive settings. As I mentioned, OneDrive worked perfectly. But then I followed the opposite steps (disabling the function in the OneDrive preferences and then enabling the same function in the DropBox settings) and the DropBox fuction started working again!

@George L. Thank you so much! Your fix worked for me too! I followed this method:
(1) Open Dropbox Preferences. Unchecked the box to save screenshots.
(2) Open OneDrive Settings. Checked the box to save screenshots.
(3) Tried to take a screenshot. Received notification that it was saved to OneDrive folder.
(4) Open OneDrive Settings. Unchecked the box to save screenshots.
(5) Open Dropbox Preferences. Checked the box to save screenshots.
(6) Tried to take the same screenshot. Received notification that it was saved to Dropbox. THANK GOD (and thank you, George)

I found my fix before finding this thread. I recently downloaded One Drive, as I recently had my hard drive replaced and am still trying to remember what all I had. I don't use One Drive too often, but I have stuff on it. Just today I tried to do a screenshot that I needed to upload, but it tried to go to One Drive. I said no, but it never saved to Dropbox... So my first instinct was to remove dropbox and try again, assuming that One Drive screwed something up.
Sure enough, that alone worked for me. I made sure that the setting for screen shots was still unchecked for One Drive, and when Dropbox was downloaded to the laptop again, I hit prt sc on the keyboard and the pop up for Dropbox came up letting me know that I could save screen shots there. Perfect!
I found this thread while dropbox was downloading, and I figured if the dropbox download didn't work I could try checking and unchecking in each setting as described above.
I'm running Win 10 with the latest updates (as of 5/18/16).

George L. your "solution" is at least one for the day - worked for me like you've instructed.

George L's fix posted on 11/24 worked for me. Doing the 'doe see doe' with the print screen settings in OneDrive and Dropbox.

Just to keep this thread updated: I had the same problem, and this fix worked, with a small addition mentioned below:
- Using a Panasonic Toughbook running Win 7 Pro, Dropbox would not save screenshots.
- Followed instructions above, and it still didn't work (for either Dropbox or OneDrive). The 'save screenshots' checkbox in OneDrive would not stay checked either.
- I discovered that I needed to stop OneDrive (exit it), then turn it back on.
- In OneDrive, I then had to go to the second tab (Account), and click on the button 'Choose Folders'. Then click on the checkbox for 'Pictures', and check the box for 'Screenshots' folder. Close everything, and test. It should save to OneDrive.
- Now follow the instructions to change it to Dropbox, and it should work perfectly. I was able to save screenshots automatically to either Dropbox or OneDrive, depending upon which checkbox I had selected.
If you are having difficulty with making this work, try turning off either/both OneDrive and Dropbox, and restarting them for a clean operating environment, and that has often seemed to work for me.

I used to have problem with screenshots, as you mentioned, but after changing Preferences in Dropbox (Import), now it works again: Ctrl + Alt + PrintScreen.

I tried all those solutions and still didn't work. Then I clicked "exit Dropbox" then restarted it and it worked!

Yes, this worked for me.
In Dropbox, disable "Save screenshots to Dropbox".
In OneDrive, disable "Save screenshots to OneDrive".
In Dropbox, enable "Save screenshots to Dropbox".
Microsoft is apparently still unfriendly towards its users, and from the looks of it - how difficult it is to uninstall Microsoft Edge, Cortana and OneDrive aggressively taking over Dropbox without telling users how to re-enable Dropbox - it has got WORSE.
