Cannot establish a secure connection after dropbox update to 111.4.472
After the dropbox app (Window 10) updates itself to the latest 111.4.472 version, I'm getting this 'Cannot establish a secure connection'.
I've checked my time on my laptop, router. It's fine. I've disabled firewalls and the whole Eset Security. I've checked my ports. Everything is fine. I've turned off the proxy setting inside app. Scanned my system for viruses, nothing fount. The only solution is to revert back to the older version, but if I do so, the app will update itself so I'm at the beginning.
I've just received some news that I'd like to share with you all here!
It appears that ESET has fixed the problem that was causing this error.
For anyone running ESET on their device, please update to the most recent version of ESET to update to the software.
Once you've done this, you should be fine to revert back to the latest stable version of the Dropbox desktop app. You can install this from here.
Otherwise, you can just allow the app to auto-update to the latest stable when a new version is released.
Let me know how it goes!

seems to work..... but keep in mind, its a beta

Good morning I have a dropbox version 111.4.472 since yesterday I have the message "Cannot establish a secure internet connection" I checked the date and time and it's ok

The beta version 112.3.254 definitely fixes the problem. Since I don't use many of the more advanced features of Dropbox, I hope this beta will be relatively stable for me.
The main production version is definitely seriously messed up.

Update 3: The beta version 112.3.254 works fine... So it was definately a problem of the latest version. Another solution could be offered by using the portable dropbox app using a previous version and selecting not to update it automatically.

I have issues, I can't access my Dropbox from my computer.
- I tried setting the Proxy in Settings to "no", didn't work.- I tried disabling the firewall and antivirus, didn't work.
- I tried reinstalling Dropbox, didn't work either.
The date and time are correct on the computer, I simply don't understand what the problem might be. It worked fine until the last time I used it a few weeks ago. :(

Hi, today dropbox gives me the following problem ...
"unable to establish a secure connection, set date and time correctly on the system".
I have checked but the date and time are correct. How to do ? - RinidadaNew member | Level 2
I've been getting this message "Can't establish secure internet connection" since yesterday. Plus - something about the date and time supposedly set wrong on the computer. The internet is flying. Date and time are set correctly. Dropbox settings have "No proxy" box checked. My antivirus (EsetNod32) had been working smoothly with Dropbox for years and nothing has changed yesterday in its way either. I tried disabling my antivirus anyway - it didn't help. Any other suggestions? I've read all other threads here on the same topic. Their solutions didn't help. Opening a ticket through https://dropbox.com/support seems like a joke to me since that page has NO links or buttons to allow me to open such ticket. It has a link "find out more" which sends to a page that suggests going back to dropbox.com/support . It just ain't funny going in circles to find the answer. Please answer here.
Thank you!

I am too having the same problem from the past three days.

Hi there,
I have the exact same issue since late Friday. I have tried everything,
- I have installed every single W10 update available
- I have reinstalled Dropbox
- I have turned off my Antivirus software (ESET 32) and Firewall as well
- I have changed my clock to manual settings
On a different PC with an older Dropbox and W10 it works fine on the same network.
Nothing helped and seeing the amount of users with this problem it is clearly not an issue on my end.

I'm experiencing the same issue with windows 7 + eset nod32.
I tried to restart computer, tried to switch proxy setting to 'no proxy' (as other article suggested) but nothing happened.
I restarted the application but the proxy setting switched back to 'auto-detect' so the problem remained the same.

Hello,
Dropbox start (about 2 day ago) sent the information "time and date in your computer is wrong". The time and date in the computer is ok. Where is the problem?
Thanks for help

Could we please get an official reply from the customer service?
How is this problem getting resolved?
Does anyone know how to open a customer service ticket?

I have been having the same problem for the past 2 days and have just now opened a technical support ticket via online chat. I gave them the link to this community support thread with all the people who have been having the same problem as me in the past week. Hopefully that will get things fixed by Dropbox soon.
- Double TroubleNew member | Level 2Well, I found a workaround,
namely install an older version and make sure that Dropbox cannot access the internet
afterwards and then change all update extensions in the program files folder
and also delete the new update files, now I have the 105 version working !It works for me !

Dropbox is showing Can't Establish Secure Connection, I've made sure I've allowed it in the windows Firewall and ESET firewall
I didn't change any thing recently in my computer or internet setup and I don't know the reason for this error.
- taxizhsExplorer | Level 4I always HAD eset and the dropbox was playing normally. I don't think that there is an issue with that. I tried also with avast antivirus in other pc STILL THE SAME PROBLEM

If I had problem with browser and Antivirus WHY it allows me to Download and install the DROPBOX app???
So something else is happening!!!
