Cannot establish a secure connection after dropbox update to 111.4.472
After the dropbox app (Window 10) updates itself to the latest 111.4.472 version, I'm getting this 'Cannot establish a secure connection'.
I've checked my time on my laptop, router. It's fine. I've disabled firewalls and the whole Eset Security. I've checked my ports. Everything is fine. I've turned off the proxy setting inside app. Scanned my system for viruses, nothing fount. The only solution is to revert back to the older version, but if I do so, the app will update itself so I'm at the beginning.
I've just received some news that I'd like to share with you all here!
It appears that ESET has fixed the problem that was causing this error.
For anyone running ESET on their device, please update to the most recent version of ESET to update to the software.
Once you've done this, you should be fine to revert back to the latest stable version of the Dropbox desktop app. You can install this from here.
Otherwise, you can just allow the app to auto-update to the latest stable when a new version is released.

I'm having the same issue. I just noticed yesterday the red X on the Dropbox icon on my taskbar....I just updated my computer and restarted, and it's still there. Nothing else has changed.
any tips?
- DJPirateNew member | Level 2I too am having the same issue after your last update. I have removed all instance of dropbox from my Eset Security as advised and still nothing. The issue is your end not on our systems as you would seem to suggest. Please fix ASAP

Hi There,
I've noticed yesterday that I am unable to sync some files through my win10 computer.
It shows that I am offline and my system time and date are not correct.
Actually, both of these things are working fine, and even after, few restarts and reinstalling the Dropbox app, were not able to resolve the issue.
So please tell me how to resolve this connection issue!

My dropbox wont sync on my hard drive, it just says cant establish a secure internet connection and indexing 14 files.
Please can someone help because I tried loggin in online to upload a document and it just fails.

As of yesterday syncing has stopped and i'm getting an error "can't establish a secure internet connection". Time and date are correct, tried disabeling the antivirus and it didn't help, nor did changing the settings to "no proxy". Any ideas?

Hi:
I have a problem with dropbox sync since 2 days ago.
It shows "Can't establish secure internet connection".
I use Windows 10 and ESET NOD32 A-V.
I have Dropbox allowed in windows firewall and I've tried to disable the firewall and the A-V.
I have the proxy configuration disabled in Dropbox.
Any idea?

hi,
since the last window10 updates there is no possibility to use dropbox, it keeps notifying that my computer is offline which of course it isn't! Please help to solve the problem!

Goedemiddag, ik heb een vraagje.
Wellicht is het gekomen door een update van windows 10, maar mijn dropbox geeft eerst aan dat mijn computer niet online is zie foto 1 en daarna geeft ie aan dat ie geen beveiligde internetverbinding tot stand kan brengen. zie foto 2. Met hulp van een kennis erbij gisteravond al van alles geprobeerd. De dropbox app van de pc verwijderd en de nieuwste versie erop gezet, dat helpt niet. Wij denken zelf dat het een instelling is van de virusscanner. Ik heb Eset virusscanner. Ook op mijn andere pc, waar die eset ook staat, krijg ik hem niet online. Nu is mijn vraag, kunnen jullie zien, of er iets in mijn account niet goed staat. Online trouwens kan ik wel alles doen wat ik wil, dat werkt wel perfect. Ook als de app op de telefoon wordt geinstalleerd werkt het perfect, maar op de pc via de app niet.

The beta install linked to by people in thread made it work again, so unless you need a lot of fancy features, try that instead of doing a lot of ESET stuff. Dropbox broke the certificate and is fixing it with the next update it seems.
