Why can't a single user get an Advanced Account without paying for 3 users?
I'm frustrated with Dropbox plans. I'm a single user who doesn't want to pay for a 3 team plan to gain more storage capacity. Currently I'm in a 5T plan that my account shares jointly with the other institution. The institutions plan was downgraded to a lesser plan. I'm the soul producer of digital material that I share with this institution. I can no long sync my material to the account since its over capacity now. I want to upgrade my account to the Advance Account for unlimited storage. I miss understood the plan pricing. It said a yearly plan was $288 thinking I could handle this pricing. But then it came to checking out it said it would be $864, shock! Then realized it was for three users at that price. Don't advertise single user pricing upfront when you can only get it for the price of $864. No one gives a crap about single user pricing when you can't get single user pricing.
Please consider the little guy who is productive and is just single user team! I've loved Dropbox but your plans suck!
Any suggestions or possible future plans that are reasonable for the little guy without breaking the bank.
Thank You
Eric

Why not offer the ability to purchase as much additional storage as you wish on a single user Dropbox Plan. Currently it's capped at 2 or 3TB. I don't need to upgrade to Dropbox Professional plan but I do need more storage than single user Dropbox Plan currently allows me.

Thank you for this post and I am 100% with you. I don't get why Dropbox can't create a $30/mo single-user plan for media freelancers. Dropbox says that their "professional" plan is for freelancers, but unless you're a photographer sharing small JPEG files, that is nowhere near enough space if you are a professional freelancer sending and exchanging video files with several clients and collaborators. I don't need 3 licenses, but I do need one with all the features that the Advanced package offers. Come'on Dropbox!

I need some of the features of Business Advanced but I am a single working freelancer. No team and I don't need to buy three plans. It would make so much sense if I could buy the Business Advanced one plan at a time.
Or make a professional plan with an upgrade to unlimited storage and some of the other features of business.
Let me know if you can make this happen!

Hi,
While I appreciate Dropbox's service, however, I find the 4TB storage limit insufficient for managing all my work. As an editor, 3D and 2D animator, or motion designer, I often work with large files that quickly consume the available 4TB capacity.
Although I highly value Dropbox's service, I must express my disappointment with the pricing structure. I don't want to pay double for the business package designed for three people, even though I am one in my business. Alternatively, I would need to allocate 1 to 2 days for backing up files onto external hard drives. Considering the technological advancements of 2023, I believe it's important for Dropbox to enhance its offerings.
Thank you, and I hope you have a wonderful day.

Hey Montano Mastering & ameliehaeck, thanks for your feedback on this - it's been noted in our system.
Also, FYI I just merged your post under this discussion as it seems to be similar to the OP.

Thank you - can you give us an idea of when we'll see movement on this?
Additionally, and this may be the wrong place for this, but when I downgraded my plan from Business (trial) to Professional all of my links that I had sent to my clients - that they rely on to access their products - became dead. Now when I asked if my files would be up still I was told yes, but this caveat was not disclosed and has led to the biggest work headache of my life. Is there any way to rectify this? I have hundreds of broken links and all those links correspond with an inconvenienced client.

Hi - I am a single user, storing mostly RAW files (that I dont need constant access to). Currently at 2.8 TB, but will need 5 TB, and possibly more in the years to come. I have upgraded from DB Professional (3TB) to DB Standard for Growing Teams (5TB). The cost for this is upwards now of $550 per year and is geared towards collaboration with a per user fee (3 users). What I'd really like to find is a reasonably priced solution just for me. Am I correct in saying that Dropbox doesnt have a plan that suits me? An individual plan with 5 TB or more?
Many thanks - I'm considering migrating to Backblaze and really would prefer to stay put. But $550 per year ($15 per user per month with 3 users even though I'm only 1 user x 12).
As I dont need always on access to many of the files, would Dropbox backup work as a solution?

That's correct. The largest individual plan Dropbox offers is the Professional plan with 3TB of storage, and you can add an additional 1TB of storage as an add-on (but only 1TB additional) from your Plan page.

That seems like a real miss from Dropbox. I will now leave them, and would have been happy to stay.

Add me to the list of customers wanting more space under a single license. Why is there a 3 TB cap, if we're willing to pay? My options are to go to google instead? Really?

I'm in the same page. Is incredible that there is a Professional plan that is not scalable at all, and that it isn't considered part of what they called "team plans", so you can't even have two simultaneous accounts in your device to split personal and professional files and get more space.
It seems Dropbox has lost touch with the users needs. They just don't care. That's why everybody is migrating to Google. I think I will end up doing the same, unfortunately.- dy_atxNew member | Level 2
Same here! I just want end to end encryption for a single user. I can't believe you have to pay $864 a year just to get end to end encryption for a single user (Business Plus plan with minimum of 3 users). I want to stay with Dropbox, but now that I know they don't offer end to end encryption except on this high-end teams plan, I don't think I have a choice but to leave.
