Why can't a single user get an Advanced Account without paying for 3 users?
I'm frustrated with Dropbox plans. I'm a single user who doesn't want to pay for a 3 team plan to gain more storage capacity. Currently I'm in a 5T plan that my account shares jointly with the other...

That's correct. The largest individual plan Dropbox offers is the Professional plan with 3TB of storage, and you can add an additional 1TB of storage as an add-on (but only 1TB additional) from your Plan page.

That seems like a real miss from Dropbox. I will now leave them, and would have been happy to stay.

I've been looking for same option. But it's way cheaper to just move to Google One 5TB which is pretty much the same price as Dropbox 3TB. Or I just add 2TB of Google Drive for a small price.
DropBox appear to have had years of feedback that they need higher level single user plans, so I doubt anything will appear before my storage tops out in next few months. Google offer a good path to move off DropBox incrementally.
