Hi Jay, yes I have run the advanced install but with the same result, complete with the 'No Internet Connection' false error message.

Do you have any proxy, VPN, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?

Hey philk949, hope you don’t mind me jumping in. Have you also tried our offline installer here?
If this still doesn’t help, we can log a ticket for you next and look into this.

Hi Nancy, thanks for jumping in. I tried the offline installer to which you directed me but the tar file, after extraction, produced nothing but an empty folder. The folder's properties say it is over 200Mb but opens to emptiness. While I was doing all this I received another pop-up informing me my computer is currently offline (utter nonsense).
Dropbox is a bad joke.
