So, I tried the link the other user supplied: Dropbox 176.4.5108.dmg and it installed correctly on Ventura 13.4!
Previously I had downloaded Dropbox 168.4.4802.arm64.dmg (fail) and DropboxInstaller.dmg (fail).
Yay!

Most new Apple machines use ARM arch at present! You're trying download Intel compatible package - are you certain it's correct? (in spite that shouldn't affect the downloading itself if the download is the issue)

I downloaded and installed the dropbox app on a new apple studio M2 with Ventura. It seemed fine (I think that was Ventura 13.1 or 13.2?), but the next day was unable to connect to dropbox on the web. I had updated to 13.4.
I tried reinstalling several times (and yes, I made sure I had the ARM version). I tried the installer and I tried the direct download of the ARM binary. In both cases the dropbox app fails to install correctly and suggests I visit the help page. I have not seen this happen on Monterey and intel. The dropbox app is nonfunctional.
