As multiple other users have already reported over the last couple years, I am seeing many of these error events in my Windows 10 Event Viewer, all coming from the DbxSvc (Dropbox service) event sou...

Hi keithfkelly, thanks for messaging the Community!
Have you tried an advanced reinstallation of the Dropbox desktop application to see if this helps?
Make sure to do this if you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected.
Keep me updated with any progress!

I'm on a Plus account and what you recommended still doesn't work. I have it installed on 2 devices and did a clean reinstall on both including clearing out leftover user/appdata folders and registry items to no avail.
I uninstalled it on 1 of my devices fully and now only have it installed on my desktop and still getting this issue.
Extremely annoying and frustrating.

Same issue here - also on a plus account - reinstalled windows from scratch - still getting the error - where is support?

I'm still seeing the same issue I originally reported. The fact of the matter is that Dropbox support doesn't give a flying f--k, and neither do the Dropbox software engineers. Nobody takes pride in their craft anymore, I guess.

I am suffering with this issue on several computers. I have tried the clean reinstall process recommended and it makes no difference. It's not causing crashes or any other practical issues it's just filling up the event log with lots of unnecessary critical errors.

But I am using a Dropbox Basic plan on more than 3 devices. Does that mean I should not follow your instructions?
- Jay4 years agoDropbox StaffIf you attempt these steps, then it means you won't be able to sign into the Dropbox desktop application again on that device, since you're over the 3 device limit for Basic accounts.
We appreciate the feedback about the event viewer logs and have noted this on our system.- keithfkelly4 years agoHelpful | Level 6
That sucks. I just chose to let my 2TB subscription downgrade back to Basic because I don't use or need anywhere near that much space. I see that's a common complaint/request in your community forums here, so perhaps your business strategists should get a clue and start offering a lower-storage, lower-cost paid tier for the millions of users like me.
