Can't update to file provider version

M2 MacBook Air Sonoma 14.1

Dropbox asks about the update, I start the process.  When it gets to the "give dropbox permissions" part, dropbox already has permissions set, I click OK...dropbox immediately quits and restarts, I login, back to regular version of Dropbox with the option to try file provider.  Same thing every time I try.  I have rebooted several times, and reinstalled Dropbox twice.  No change.

  • I realized there was already a Dropbox folder in CloudStorage, so I deleted that and tried the install again. It worked, no crash. Everything working fine now. I know old Dropbox would warn and rename existing folders, this version crashes.

Hey organik, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If you go through the app's preferences and check the sync tab, what's the location of your Dropbox folder?

And if you hover over your Dropbox icon, which version do you have installed?

Let me know and we'll go from there.
