My account keeps saying it's full - but it isn't
Hi - I have a 6.3 GB basic account with less that 1.2 GB of data in it, but I keep getting notifications saying the account is full, and it isn't syncing. I've double checked my folders and cleaned out all deleted items, but it makes no difference. I have been unable to contact any sort of support through the website, so am hoping someone might know how to fix this. Thanks.

So Support is a big 0 help.
My issue is. I only have 356mb of files in my dropbox.
I have NO shared files or folders with anyone.
Total of 356MB of files
So why does dropbox say I have 9.29G of files. and where are they.
I have deleted files and "Permanently Deleted" the files from trash.

Hey there, dlav2001, thanks for reaching out to our Community.
Sorry you had this experience with our support team; can you give us the ticket number for the communication, so we can take a look?
As for your issue, did you take a look at your backups page, to see if any backups are taking up your space?

Thank you. That worked.
All support would do would tell me to check this, and how, but they would not look at the situation. Why do backups not show up in the main dropbox page?
Second of all, I deleted my Autobackups. but I would like to still backup my "Documents" folder, but I don't want to backup my "Documents" Subfolders. is it possible. I selected the Documents folder, then the "Arrow" into the folder to see all the contents of "Documents", but it won't let me unselect the subfolders in Documents. I just want to do certain folders in Documents, and all individual files in documents. is that possible.
thanks for the help.

It says that I am out of storage. I have 211.1 MB in Regular Files. I have 1.7 GB in Backup files. I don't need dropbox to backup my files. I have carbonite. How do I disable that and delete the files of the backup?

Hey Lisab3, thanks for reaching out to us.
If backup files are taking up your space and you'd like to disable the backup feature, you can follow the steps in this article.
I hope this helps!

I am told my basic dropbox is full, but I am informed that with my limited needs it shouldn't be. How do I identify what is taking up this space, and what I can do to get things under the limit

If I got your question, Would you mind checking the Backups page and letting us know what it reports ?
It would also be helpful if you could verify your Personal Dropbox space on this page . If possible.

Thank you. The Back up page indicates External Drive 6.08GB and PC 306.76MB.
The personal dropbox space indicates Regular files 1.3GB, Backup 6.1GB

Hey Grahamdragon, from what you're reporting, it seems like you have enabled the external backup feature on your Dropbox application and an external drive of yours is taking up your space and bringing your account over its quota.
You can disable that by following these steps.
I hope this helps!

Hi Hannah
Thanks. When clicking on the icon it does not display Sync and Backups. It simply displays the sync history
