RAW=1 link no longer working for videos in Chrome
Hi,
For MP4 videos, when I share links, I change the dl=0 at the end of the link to raw=1. This no longer seems to work in Google Chrome as of the past few days.
Was there something changed on your end to cause this issue?
Others I share links with have the same issues, so it is not specific to my device.
.
Example:
DL=0 (original) link:
Changed to raw=1:
Thanks!
Mike

Hello. I want to use video from Dropbox on my website, it works with "raw=1" on desktop version, but doesn't on mobile version
- WalterDropbox StaffHi people; thank you all for your reports!
Can you please let us know if this persists after clearing your browser's cache or another browser with no plugins or extensions running?
Thanks!- DrrcraigExplorer | Level 4
It is working now!

Hi Walter
I've tested in Chrome v89 64bit and Microsoft Edge v89 64bitwithout extensions (that I am able to disable on company notebook) and also in Incognito mode on both
but still get the same issue of the player controls showing but not being able to play the video when using "raw=1" query param.

I was using raw=1 for video and now it has stopped working. the video plays with dl=0 but when I switch to raw=1 I get "No video with support format and MIME type found" It is an mp4 file. Not just in mine, a colleague uses it the same way and he has the same issue.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

We recently encountered an issue where images and video files share-link-hosted on Dropbox were no longer able to be loaded by Safari/Webkit browsers ...in the context of being used inside a simple HTML file while using the raw=1 switch in the URL. This affects both Desktop (Safari on Mac) and iOS devices (any browser on iOS, since all browsers on iOS are Webkit based).
We opened a support ticket and after much back and forth:
"Thanks for reporting this problem. Without you, other customers could have experienced this same issue. You’re helping us make Dropbox better for all our customers.
I relayed the details of your problem to our engineering team. From here, they’ll evaluate the problem and work toward a solution.
I can’t say exactly how long this will take, however, I’ll keep a close watch on the team’s progress and let you know as soon as I have an update."I'm unsure if this response is ultimately boilerplate or they are actually working on the issue. It would appear it affects ALL iPhones and iPads. At least on desktop Mac, you have the choice to use another browser that does not have the issue.
We tested this on our Business account as well as personal accounts, across multiple devices, internet connections, and varied geo regions.
Has anybody else experienced this issue?

Yours seems to be working now. Did you do something? Ours is not.

We are experiencing the same issue this week.
Video (MP4) files that have been shared for a long time suddenly stopped working.
We append the ?raw=1 to the url to play them in an iframe.Currently it only shows black video player control, but you can't click on the buttons to play.
In the browser Dev Tools (F12) I can see the redirect happens but the redirected file encounters a permissions issue (http error 403)
When I remove the ?raw=1 I can play the video file but this does not seem to work within an iframe.

I have the same issue. I have been using raw=1 for years with mp3 and now it doesn't work in Chrome or Safari.
I contacted support but no answer yet.
