Can’t view shared folder without space, but also can't upgrade.
Why can’t I view shared content without adding to Dropbox? Says my storage is full but even when I try to upgrade I get an update failed message.

I'm trying to view a shared folder that has more data than my standard Dropbox Account. I do not want to add these files to my account since they exist already in my friend's account, I just be able to view. It keeps giving me the message to increase my storage plan to add to my files. How do I view without adding all the files to my account?

Hi Gerberdaisy, welcome to our Community!
Based on what you described, it sounds like you weren't sent a link to view, but were rather invited to join a shared folder.
In order to join a shared folder, you need to have enough space in your account to hold your own copy of the folder.
If you only need view access, ask the owner to send you a shared link with view-only access instead.
I hope this helps!

Thank you! Will I be able to view and download individual selected files to my desk top?

Hi Gerberdaisy, you should be, yes.
Unless the owner chooses to disable downloads for shared links, but I doubt that'll be the case.
