This seems like a simple enough task but I can't figure out how to view the number of anything in a folder. For example, how many of my images have transferred from my phone to my dropbox account? What's the difference between the "photos" folder in the left hand menu (web version) vs "camera upload" folder on the app? I can see in the "camera upload" folder I have 4922 files. It doesn't distinguish between photos or videos. This number is useless to me unless I know the origin of the photos. I know I don't have 4922 photos on my phone. I have 8800 photos in my iCloud and 396 videos in my iCloud. On my phone, it says my photos are about 3G. Maybe I'm asking too much, I used to have Box and I can see the number of items in a folder so I can see if what I'm uploading is matching. Why is this so hard? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Hello, My videos play sound and video 100%, but when I upload them to Dropbox, there's no video, only sound, but the file size and file type remains the same. This issue suddenly started, before that there was no problem. Please help me fix this. Thank you!8Views0likes1CommentSpecial folder act as "web server"
Well, I've using Dropbox as my webserver at the beginnings, but due to security Dropbox disable this function, but I suggest only allow a special folder can use HTML code with no scripting support, no dynamic function except plain HTML, this can save my cash hosting some webpages and make use of the Dropbox storage for some PDF files sharing.24Views0likes1CommentZip file can not decompress Mac OS X
Hello DB. I have now, on multiple occasions, had clients write me that when they download a folder I sent them, the resulting .zip file will provide an error when decompressed. I have myself recreated this on a Macbook Air M2 on OS X Monterey and Big Sur. The downloaded zip file has the correct size, but is corrupt. Hi, I am slowly downloading the contents of my Dropbox (approx 600GB) to an SSD drive from the website. I do not have the folders synced to my computer as they'd fill it. The last job I have to do is to download the contents of my Camera Uploads folder. I can't find a way to see exactly how many photos/images there are, but I estimate 50k+ based on what I've transferred from my phone over the years. I've attempted and given up on this task a few times. It seems the 'easiest' way to do it is to move the photos into new folders in chunks – seems 1000 at a time is the maximum. I can't see a way to keep track of what's been downloaded without separating them into folders like this first. Factoring time to then download to my computer, unzip the file and then upload to the SSD this is going to take a very long time. Does anyone have any suggestions for any better and/or easier ways to achieve such a large transfer of images? Thanks very much, Emma93Views0likes1CommentI am not finding files and folders on my account online that I just created or edited.
I am not finding files and folders on Dropbox.com that I just created or edited. There are multiple and duplicate folders on my laptop system and then I cannot find some of them on the Dropbox 'All Files'. Are there on-line consultants that can help for a fee?69Views0likes1CommentCan I download multiple starred images from the website?
I use the “star” feature as a way to quickly sort through images that have been automatically uploaded from my camera memory card and ensure that I have an easy way to find the ones that came out the clearest. But when I go to view all of the starred images, there is no way to quickly download them all at once or select groups of images to download. I have to do it one by one. It’s very time consuming.269Views0likes2CommentsImprove Photos.dropbox.com performance
I love that Dropbox is platform agnostic. I don't want to rely on Google or Microsoft. But Photos.dropbox.com needs serious improvement or I will not be renewing my subscription next year. Photos is the #1 thing I store in Dropbox. Even ignoring how many more features Google Photos has, just loading in the photo grid in dropbox feels slow and unresponsive. If you could make it so that I could load in Dropbox photos and quickly get to a photo I know I have from a year or two ago, I would be happy. Could you do more caching of lower quality thumbnails? Maybe that is why scrolling feels so unresponsive. The count and dates of photos are clearly not cached or precomputed, because when I load the page, it takes a minute for the date scrollbar to fully load all the months I have photos from. Even if you could just do this for Camera Roll, that would be amazing.153Views0likes2CommentsSome videos on my account can't be previewed on the site or when I download them
When I click on my videos it says .mp4 files are supported but something went wrong I have tried using an incognito window and a different browser. I can't preview my files at all. When I download them they show up as a .mp4 but no preview. When I try to play them QuickTime Player says they can not be opened.324Views0likes8Comments
