The shared link I sent out truncates the names of files included. Can I adjust the name column?
I’m trying to share a collection of files with non Dropbox users by sending them a link. The files have long names. When the recipients click on the link they get a list of files with very shortened names, such that they cannot tell at a glance which file is which. On the other hand the column showing the size of the files is much wider than needed. Is there any way to give more space to the names of the files? Also, why is the file order seen by the recipients not the same as the order I see in my own Dropbox folder?
My web account keeps freezing whenever I'm idle for more than 20 minutes.
I don't know what exactly has been changed, but being idle in a Dropbox folder on Web while working on a project (20-30 mins) causes issues with creating a new folder, or trying to move/copy/rename etc. It just freezes, and a refresh of the page keeps the page in a "loading" state. You have to fully close the tab and load Dropbox afresh for it to work again. Very, very, very annoying and it ruins the entire workflow. Having to navigate through all folders again to get back to where I was. Also please allow this "suggestion" for where you want to move/copy something to be toggled on/off, because it hasn't provided me the correct location once and it always loads in late causing a missclick...
How can I view the number of files and images in a folder?
This seems like a simple enough task but I can't figure out how to view the number of anything in a folder. For example, how many of my images have transferred from my phone to my dropbox account? What's the difference between the "photos" folder in the left hand menu (web version) vs "camera upload" folder on the app? I can see in the "camera upload" folder I have 4922 files. It doesn't distinguish between photos or videos. This number is useless to me unless I know the origin of the photos. I know I don't have 4922 photos on my phone. I have 8800 photos in my iCloud and 396 videos in my iCloud. On my phone, it says my photos are about 3G. Maybe I'm asking too much, I used to have Box and I can see the number of items in a folder so I can see if what I'm uploading is matching. Why is this so hard? Any help would be greatly appreciated. No sound on my videos when previewed on the Dropbox site, why?
Hello, My videos play sound and video 100%, but when I upload them to Dropbox, there's no video, only sound, but the file size and file type remains the same. This issue suddenly started, before that there was no problem. Please help me fix this. Thank you!
Unable to upload 250 GB from WIN11 laptop both from web and desktop app
I pay for Dropbox Plus and have heaps of cloud space to upload to. Unfortunately I can't seem to be able to upload a 250GB folder whether I use the website or the Desktop APP. Am I missing something fundamental or is 250GB over a limit. It's driving me nuts. Thanks for any help. Vic
Special folder act as "web server"
Well, I've using Dropbox as my webserver at the beginnings, but due to security Dropbox disable this function, but I suggest only allow a special folder can use HTML code with no scripting support, no dynamic function except plain HTML, this can save my cash hosting some webpages and make use of the Dropbox storage for some PDF files sharing.
