Yesterday I uploaded a movie file to Dropbox for some friends to download. Immediately after, I decided to check from a browser that wasn't logged in, to see what it would look like for them if they didn't have a Dropbox account. I was shocked to discover, under “Activity”: “Patricia Johnson downloaded this file” and “Anthony Abate viewed this file” (neither name recognised by me): So, then I logged in to investigate, but only saw “Traffic and insights: See who’s visiting... Upgrade to Dropbox Professional to start tracking.”: Surely this isn’t a scare tactic to get me to upgrade to a paid account, is it??Solved33KViews1like12CommentsDropbox files Preview pane
From File Manager, when I click on a .pdf, the preview pane shows this: Index of C:\users\owner\dropbox\ and then lists everything in my dropbox. This shows on everyone's pc I have shared the folders with. This is only happening in the first two folders that I know of. I have at least 25 folders.Solved9.2KViews1like10CommentsHow do I hide the sidebar/list column on the left side of the iPad app? Cannot find that option
How do I hide the sidebar? In the iPad app? The current one as of the date of this posting? I cannot find that option anywhere, and if it’s incredibly obvious and I’m overlooking it I will be upset with myselfSolved9KViews4likes7CommentsSmart Sync Not Showing Up on Windows 11
Hi! I am on Windows 11 and have a Dropbox Business account. The Issue: I cannot see the option when I right click a file, to Smart Sync > Local or Online Only I do see this option on my MacBook Pro. I did see the option on my PC earlier this week, I do not see it now. In an effort to troubleshoot my issue, I just install and reinstall Dropbox app on the PC. The problem remains. The options I see when I right click a file are Dropbox > - Share - View in Dropbox - Copy Dropbox Link - Version History - Send with Dropbox History Any insight is appreciated. Thanks!Solved5.8KViews1like14CommentsOffline Online Green checkmark / Cloud icon indicators not visible / Finder MacOs 12.3 M1
Hi, was wondering if the Green / partially green and Cloud icon indicators for Selective sync inside finder are coming back soon? I know that you're working on a fix with new Macs and online previewing, is this part of the same problem? Dropbox v145.4.4921 MacOs 12.3 M1 Hope to hear from you, makes it really hard to get an indication which folders and files are stored locally. Greetings.Solved4.2KViews3likes13CommentsFile Explorer in W 10 will not open DropBox files
I am using Windows 10 and have today found that I cannot access any local dropbox files on my computer using File Explorer. I can access them via the DropBox online site and through the icon on the taskbar. I have unsynced the two storage areas and then resynced them. I have downloaded the DropBox desktop again and still have problems. When I navigate through the DropBox folders on the pc, as soon as I select a folder the blue circle of "waiting for god" runs and then eventually drops out! Any response will be gratefully received - thanksSolved3.9KViews1like8CommentsAutomatic file preview on the right of the page whenever I select a file
This just started happening yesterday (online interface)... whenever I select a file, a preview pane opens on the right with a preview of the file. I don't want or need this, especially with image files since I view those by large grid and it's redundant to have the preview. This preview literally takes up half of the Dropbox interface on my screen. The kicker is that if I upload a file, once the file is uploaded the file is considered 'selected' so the preview opens then too! Is there any way to disable this totally unnecessary and obtrusive feature?Solved3.5KViews4likes9Comments"Show in Finder" not available in preview-mode in Chrome
Ever since the dropbox UX-update the option 'open in finder' isn't available in the preview mode (e.g. with powerpoint presentations). It seems to be replaced with the "Go to Folder" button. However, this 'Go to Folder' opens the folder in my webbrowser, not my file explorer (Finder). In the file overview which I am directed to after clicking on 'Go to Folder', I can select the file and click on the 3 dots to have the option to "Show in Finder", but when working it was more efficient to have the option in the dropbox preview window. These extra 4 clicks are quite annoying to do each time. Will 'Show in Finder' be added back to the options users have when previewing files, or is there some way to get it back? Edit: it's not a bug. At least, my colleagues experience this as well so it's not limited to my devices.3.2KViews2likes7CommentsHow can I view my folders on the Dropbox mobile app
How can I get folder view in Dropbox mobile?? There is no left side bar, there is is no badge at the top, there is no lightning bolt, and I can't see how to get folder view.
