I can see my files online but not in the app
I can see my files online when I search them but cannot see the files when I search in the app.

Hey Christa6, thanks for reaching out to us.
By app, are you referring to the mobile app or the desktop app?
If it's the desktop app and consequently the Dropbox folder, can you check the sync status and version of the app, by hovering over your Dropbox icon?
Let me know what you find.

Thank you so much for responding! I can't see files on the desktop app. I can see them on the phone app and online.
It says "Dropbox 212.4.5767 Up to date" when I hover. The sync issues says "No Issues".

I guess the desktop app is my Finder. I'm working on a Mac. idk if that helps.

So I'm really bad at explaining. so sorry. When I search for a file in the search bar, the items in the folder I want appear but not the actual blue folder.

No worries, Christa6, we’ll check this together, so feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
From what I gather, you are searching for files via the search bar in your Finder, and while you can locate the files, you don’t see the parent folder that contains them. Is this right?
Can you send me a screenshot of what you see on your end exactly, so that I can also have a visual? You can attach it here with the following “camera” icon in your text box:
