How to get Dropbox for macOS on File Provider
I'm sure this is a common question, but I can't simply find the answer elsewhere. I want to buy a Dropbox plan and download a Dropbox app that works on my MacOS on File Provider. My Mac is at 13.5. I...

Hey johnkast, welcome to our Community.
If I understand correctly, you'd like to install the new version of Dropbox for macOS on your computer.
We’re currently still in the process of rolling out the updated Dropbox for macOS on File Provider.
The update isn't rolled out to all Dropbox customers at once, but rest assured that once your account is eligible, you will receive a desktop notification and an email to update the app.
You can see more info about what to expect here.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Yes, this is absolutely terrible. It has been "in the works" for years. When are we going to get this update? You guys said it was coming like last year. Then you said August. It's now September. It's been "rolling out" for like a year now. I don't even believe it, lol. It feels like a lie. My business counts on Dropbox to run our daily operations. If this update doesn't arrive before the end of the year, we will have to cancel and find a better cloud provider. This is unacceptable for a company such as this. We haven't been able to update our Mac computers in years because of this issue. We are missing out on the latest Mac OS quality of life features and security updates. Our apps are becoming outdated because we can't update our operating systems. Please Dropbox just release the update to us already. Do we have to beg, lol. Ridiculous.

How does Dropbox prevent you from updating your systems? Even if your account isn't ready for the Dropbox File Provider update, you can still install and use Dropbox just as you always have.

Because it causes too many issues, lol. That's the whole point in having Dropbox for Mac OS. Not being able to open files properly and everything pretty much destroys our workflow. Any workarounds are too much trouble and take way to much time. I simply want the update already. It's been years. They have no excuses. We've tried updating our computers before and it was just a complete mess. We had to revert. We have been waiting for an official update from Dropbox.
