Sync not available on second laptop

Hello,

I installed Dropbox on my son's laptop and ask him to create one unique folder where he will put everything.  But with time many of my personal folders syncronize on his computer. The option  Preferences - Syncronize I have on my computer does not exist on his (see picture 1). When I open Dropbox icon on his computer I just have two options  : YOU and SHEARED the menu I have on my screen (see pic 2) does not appers on his. How can I control wich folders sync on his computer? Any ideas?

Thanks!

  • Thanks Nancy! Dropbox support helped me. Seems like my son's  laptop is hiding the options to sync.

    Here the answer :

The issue can be resolved by making DPI scaling adjustments directly to the Dropbox application without making the change to your complete system. Please follow the steps below to make these changes on the affected computer:

    Open Windows File Explorer.

Copy and paste this file path in the search bar: C:\Program Files (x86)\Dropbox\Client.
Right-click on the Dropbox application in this folder.
    Select Properties.
    Click the Compatibility tab.
    Select Change high DPI settings.
Check the box labeled Override High DPI scaling behavior.
Click the drop down menu and ensure System (Enhanced) is selected.
Click Apply to save the changes.
    Restart your device.
Open Dropbox from the system tray.

    Hi Valentitina

Thanks for the screen grabs 🙂

Is your son using a Windows machine with an S version of Windows? If so there is no folder structure like yours so the application works more like a mobile device instead of an actual syncing system

Thanks for your answer! But then sychronised files are aleatory? No way I can handle that with 35 Go files syncronizing on his laptop! What to do?

Hey Valentitina, and sorry for jumping in here.

Can you please clarify which personal folders of yours are syncing to your son’s Dropbox account?

Also, can you send a full screenshot of his app preferences?
