Not enough space to add a shared folder, but there should be enough space
Hi.
I wanted to add a shared folder, but received a message telling me I don't have enough free space to do so.
This surprised me because the folder has a size of 2 GB and I have 2 GB of free sp...

I've been sent files via a shared folder but I cannot access that page. I cannot get beyond the page that tells me to upgrade my plan. Even though I am only using
Using 0.05 GB of 2 GB space
Upgrade for more storage
It says:
Your account is out of storage! Centralize your photos, personal docs, work files—everything—in a single, safe place. Dropbox Plus has all the space you need with room to spare.

If you're seeing that message while trying to join a shared folder, it means the folder is larger than the amount of available space in your account. You would need to upgrade your account in order to have enough space available to add the folder.

Thanks for that response Rich. I'm surprised to hear that because the other day I was able to DL 26GB even though I don't have a paid account.

If you're sent a view-only shared link you can download the content without even needing an account, but if you're invited to join a shared folder, you need an account and you need to have enough available space to hold the share. The same would apply for a shared link if you wanted to save the content to your account, rather than just download it to your computer.
