Same question here... ALL OF THEM, especially the Desktop Menu on Mac in my case ! There should definitely be a way to delete all notifications, not just HIDE them and defintely no one by one.. there needs to be a bulk way for doing this. Sometimes really old ones from ages ago as in years... reappear.. BUGGY.

Thank you for your feedback on this one Ian - much appreciated. I'll be passing it on to our developers for future improvements.
In the meantime, note that you can disable or enable notifications on the Dropbox desktop application by following these steps:
1) Click on the small Dropbox icon in your menu bar
2) Click on the gray colored gear icon
3) Select "Preferences..."
4) Toggle the boxes of the notifications you'd like to enable or disable.
[To remove specific notifications you already have in the notifications panel of the Dropbox desktop application, you can click the three dots at the upper right corner of the notification you'd like to remove, and then click remove.]
I hope this helps and please let me know if you have any more feedback or questions ianstudio!

This would be all well and good if there were actually three dots somewhere on a notification. I have random notifications from 1, 2 years ago that just won't go away. Meanwhile, I no longer get useful notifications of new file updates.

Could you forward a screenshot of that so I can get a better view of the matter at hand bsteve?
Also, note that the desktop application can display notifications on your computer when changes are detected in your Dropbox account while you should be able to choose which notifications you'll receive as well:
- Click the Dropbox icon from your menu bar (Mac) or system tray (Win/Linux).
- Click the gear icon and select Preferences... from the menu.
- Check or uncheck the boxes under Notify me about to choose which notifications you'll receive.
Let me know how this goes!

Hello
I agree with all the community requests about the need to be able to hide (or otherwise permanently remove) notifications in bulk.
Walter, we do not necessarily want to TURN OFF the notifications. That is easy to do.
Our issue is having to go through each of the received notifications *in two steps* (!!) to get rid of a notification we have dealt with.
There should be an option to delete all "read" notifications.
And if we are going through them one by one to delete them, DB should learn that we are not trying to register a complaint about an obscene notification. We are trying to clear our workspace. The 2-step remove procedure should fade out.
Please can you give us a fix for this immediately?
Thanks

There are no three dots showing up on the notification. see screenshot.
Can you please help me..

Changes were made that dropped the dots. We have to keep lobbying for a feature that would be no notices older than x months, or somesuch.

you rick for you reply. that was helpful.
In the interim what can I do to remove those notifications?

Yup, mine looks like that too. Today I got a "notification" from Dropbox to join a team - except that they're all people I've never heard of, and I can't get rid of the notification. I used to be an analyst/programmer so I can say with some confidence that this is lousy programming.

This is ridiculous. I know of no other system that does not let you clear notifications. Some of mine have no menu [...], and if they do, there is no remove. I have ones from Dropbox that are three years old. I'm running Windows 10 Pro.
You should be able hide acknowledged notifications, search and select notifications, delete or acknowlege selected notifications.

Hi, what if i have 123 notifications i need to clear .... how do i clear then all at once ...and not one by one ? there must be a way..... i dont have time to sit here, right click, dismiss, next next, next ..

Adding my two cents that this is annoying and it feels absurd that it hasn't been addressed yet.

Hello from March 2020. I can confirm that this still hasn't been addressed and I've still got notifications from 2013 when my old boss left and removed her shared folders which I just had to remove one by one. Again. *sigh*

Deleted notifications, all 5 or 6 years old, keep reappearing on the several Macs I run. I have used the elipsis removal process, described above, on 3 macs, each running different Mac operating systems (El Capitan, High Sierra and Catalina). So there must me some old buggaboo still present? Not a big deal; just curious how to correct if anyone knows. I suspect the macs are syncronizing from one another and not picking up on any of the delete markers. Perhaps I can defeat the notifications finally by turning off sync on all three macs, deleting/removing on each mac, then turning sync back on? I suppose I can give that a try someday.
Happy New Year 2020!
