Google Docs in Dropbox - Shareable edit links?

Ok, I think this answers my question - Dropbox's implementation of Google Docs sharing won't work in my setting due to requiring that all users have a Dropbox account to edit a Google Doc. I will switch to a different platform for these files, thank you.

Could you please let us know some additional information?
For example, are you all part of the same Dropbox for Business teams account or are you using individual accounts and sharing those files directly?
Have your collaborators added the file to their account so that they can edit it?

- The students all have accounts with my university but may or may not be using them. All I am looking for is a way for anyone on the internet who I send the link to be able to edit the documents regardless of their login status.
