Dropbox not syncing after I restored my Mac from Time Machine

Yesterday I restored my Mac from Time Machine. I just updated a document in Dropbox and it didn’t sync to my iPhone. Any help. I’ve never used this.

  • Walter, I think I have it fixed. For some reason after I restored my Mac Dropbox thought I had two iMacs, one iPhone and one iPad, for a total of four devices. Deleted one of the iMacs and the updated doc is now on both my phone and iPad.

    Thanks

Hey jande5556 - sorry to hear about this.

Can you please send me a screenshot of the app's status as shown in your menu bar?

Also, have you ensured that you're logged into the same account on both of your devices?

Do you see the document when you access your account from a web browser on both devices?

Let me know what you find!

Walter, Thanks for the reply. I recontacted Apple. The advice I got was to upload my documents to the cloud (I had the documents box unchecked). I followed their advice and immediately realized I didn’t want to do that. All I want is to sync my Dropbox like before. I called back to confirm I could just abort that upload and go back to the way it was. They said to just uncheck the doc box and hit done. Did it, but couldn’t find any docs. Restarted upload and docs are back but it is going to take forever. I’ll see where I’m and tomorrow and get back to you.
