Can someone tell that I downloaded a file from a shared link on Facebook?
Not sure if I am posting this to the right board. I am part of a private group on Facebook, and someone made a comment to someone else that included a Dropbox link to an audio file. I was curious what was on the audio so I clicked on the link and ended up downloading it to my Dropbox so I could listen to it later.
When I went back to the discussion later, I noticed that the comment thread with the link to the file had been removed. I am mortified that maybe I committed a faux pas. Would the owner of the Dropbox file be able to tell who specifically downloaded the file, or would it just show that a “guest” viewed it?
The way it was shared was just via a link in the comments, it wasn’t direct messaged privately to one person.
Thanks in advance!
You should be OK - it should probably show 'guest' if they have the link tracked at all.

Thank you for your reply, Mark. I am feeling a bit better…I was embarrassed to go back into the group and participate because I was afraid they would all know it was me who downloaded the file.
