Any ideas why my uploads are stalling?

I have been uploading pictures and videos from the website for weeks with no problem. However, I checked the status of my recent upload and it has not moved in 12 hours.

I have 3.5% used of 1026GB and Dropbox is up to date. These files are not syncing to my computer as I'm trying to back everything to get rid of this iMac.

What do I do? I'm afraid of not knowing where this stopped on uploads if I quit. Will it pick back up? Do I wait it out?

I looked at the cache and it only has today's files.

  • It wont pick up I'm afraid and sounds as if it has stalled.

I strongly suggest installing Dropbox on the iMac, putting everything inside the 'Dropbox' folder and letting it sync to the other machine normally.

The upload gives me a message indicating that there is 6 minutes left to complete my upload and that there are 43 files left. However, 6 minutes has turned into an hour with nothing showing but the same message and a spinning sprocket(?) which seems to indicate that it is attempting to upload the remainder of the files. What should I do? I hope that my question is clear.

I upload from the browser simple because I transfer to other services fro other clients.

Any how I think the problem with dropbox stalls comes from the following:

      1) Browser caches are too full and need to be cleared.

      2) The network on Dropbox gets jammed up and stalls an incoming file.

      3) ISP's like Comcast purposely slow the transmission or limit the connection to services like dropbox. To get around this use a VPN to connect to Dropbox. But even it you do you might still run into an issue with the first two problems.
