How can I preview my files in full-screen mode on the website and not in quick view?

Suddenly I cannot open and files (documents or photos) in full-screen mode. Instead I get a split screen with the file shown only on the far-right third of the page. Is there some new way to open a f...

    Hey amcoffice, thanks for reaching out to us on the Dropbox Community.

     

    We really appreciate your comments on this feature and I wanted to let you know that I've passed your feedback to our team.

     

    If you'd like to open your files in full-screen mode, you can simply click on the "open" button at the top right corner of the "quick view" preview and the file will open in full screen.

     

    You can also disable quick view, if you want.

     

    At the top right corner of your "all files" page, you'll see the following button, which will allow you to switch to full-screen previews.

Hi,

This is not an option on my current view.  It is September 2024 now.  All I want to do is browse a folder full of images (500 in my case) in FULL SCREEN with the dark background and have it STAY in full screen mode as I hit the arrow key to move to the next image.  This used to be so easy and I cannot find a way to do this.  I am on an iMac Pro in Safari browser.  Thanks.

    No, not like that. That’s exactly the problem. That is not full screen.

    Hi Rich, 

    Thanks for the video.  I tried to respond but uploaded incorrectly as I was in a rush.  Anyway, no that is not what I am looking for.  That is not full screen.  Full screen is where nothing but the image is on the screen and a dark black/grey background. I can get the first image to show this way by clicking the full screen icon but then when I hit the arrow on the keyboard to move to the next image, it reverts back to what you think is full screen.  See attached. Thanks though for the speedy response yesterday.

    Here is the false full screen, and what your video shows as "full screen":

     

    Here is the true full screen.  This works fine on an iPad for example.  I can browse all images in true full screen.

      Hey SBNL, if you click on the "full screen" button at the top right corner in the preview, and then on "hide toolbar", you will get the closest thing to a full screen view we have.

       

      I will, however, pass your feedback along to our team about this.
