.MP4 DJI Drone Videos Won’t Open
Hi!
I’ve got a DJI Drone which a frequently shoot videos with!
What I usually do I put them on my tablet, from there I upload them on Dropbox from the gallery and delete them from the device to make more space and keep uploading more videos.
However when I try to download one of these videos back on my tablet as .MP4 it’ll go straight in my download and I can’t open them. I tried to use a Third Party VLC App but it still doesn’t work.
There’s not way for me to download it straight back in the gallery, I can only download them as a file, I was hoping it would still work but I’ve explained the issue I’m having.
Also the window is all grey out when I open the file and it says the it’s 0.00Mb
How do I fix this?
It’s frustrating since I pay the yearly 2Tb subscription and I’m actually thinking to go back to Google Drive If I don’t get this fixed.
I do like the “Sharing” ways of Dropbox reason why I got onto the subscription but if I can’t even download back the same file to the same device I’ve uploaded it from, it’s not that helpful.
Thanks!

Files go from 200mb up to 3.5Gb
The previews work fine in low res on browser and app.
Thanks for assisting Jay!

Hi Andrea G, if they work fine online, and on the app when you try to preview them, this might have something to do with the player locally.
Does this happen with all of your .mp4 drone videos?
Do you happen to have our desktop app, to check for the files there? Just to make sure, are these the steps you follow on your end?
- Andrea GExplorer | Level 3Since the tablet is an Android and I have an Apple Id login, when I try the prompt doesn’t work which I think that is another issue.
It take me to the browser to do a login but then it won’t work so I did it on the browser, however I tried to do it with another account sharing the folder and saving the videos with this other account which it still works but the problem is that they keep getting sent and saved as files, not in the gallery giving the same issue that the file won’t open.- JayDropbox Staff
If the file is working normally on the app and in a browser, then it sounds like there's an issue during the download process.
Are you connected to a stable WiFi connection? Have you tried using cellular data to download the file? Could you try marking the file as available offline first, and then exporting it to your device?
