Shared Folders
28 TopicsThis setting won’t apply to people who join this folder to collaborate
Hi all - I have a shared folder. If I have it set so that "Only people invited can access", how would that change for a collaborator? I see the note "This setting won’t apply to people who join this folder to collaborate" and just want to ensure that only people added can view/edit the folder and the link can't be shared with others.57Views0likes1CommentDropbox external collaborators report is missing some data

I am a 3rd party accountant and a client shares files with me through Dropbox. I recently just had another client want to share files with me via dropbox as well. I just accepted the invite from another client and they have 3 folders they have invited me to. I am concerned that each of these clients can now see the other clients information. Is this the case?Solved314Views0likes2CommentsCan't move the folder outside Team Folder. Don't see the path.
I am trying to move a folder that is inside a Team Folder, to a folder outside of the team folder and it does not let me view any folders outside the Team Folders as an option. We tried from the User side using the Files tab, from the Admin Console using multiple Admin accounts and in Windows using File Explorer. It is the same issue that happened in the following ticket on your Community: https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Security-and-Permissions/How-can-I-move-a-folder-out-of-a-Team-Folder/td-p/335831 Note: This is a Dropbox for Business (Enterprise License) account.897Views0likes1CommentHiding unshared Team folders from non-member Team members
I'm setting up a new Team Folder. Previously, users only saw the folders that they had access to. Now, all folders are listed. Those that they don't have permission to see are showing up with a Folder/Building/- symbol indicating that they don't have permission to see what's in those folders. I don't want unshared folders to be visible to everyone. Some of these folders are top-level company members only. I know this has been addressed in the past and at that time the only workaround was to set up all of the folders in your Personal Team Member folder. I am really hoping that there has been a change in the parameters since this post was made and resolved. https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Security-and-Permissions/Creating-locked-folders-that-are-invisible-to-rest-of-your-team/td-p/269177 This option seems like it would be an essential option everyone needs. Does one really need everyone on the team to know that there's a folder for Company Payroll or Payroll Review? or even as basic as Accounting? In my experience, people only want to see in the folders that they know the name of but yet don't have access to. I'm doing a Dropbox cutover this weekend and just discovered this issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!! The worst case is that I set them all up under my personal folder now and move them out if I find out that there's a better resolution out there. Thanks, community!!!Solved5KViews2likes18CommentsWhy were my folders revoked access by a "Dropbox" member?
Is it normal that an unknown Dropbox member (with no email address nor defined location) to suddenly start revoking access, even those with administrator privileges? On our Dropbox site we see this unusual activity: “Removed user/group from shared file/folder”. It is as if Dropbox revokes access to the owners of those folders. As it is shown in the dashboard, This is happening to us. We have lost access to a group of 17 folders. For more than 24 hours we have contacted Dropbox support and have not received a response. We are affected since our employees cannot access the folders. There is no way to recover previous versions and Dropbox support does not seem very concerned about helping us. Can anyone help or give advice on this?624Views0likes6Comments
