Is there a way to run the Dropbox app in the background on my iPhone?
Hey everyone, I just switched to an Android from an iPhone. I am facing a feature problem that I loved on my iPhone! Which is, if I open up an audio file from my dropbox app I can just do other stuff on my phone. On android however, it stops playing whenever I switch over to a different app. Is there a way to let it run in the background just like the iPhone? Thanks!
Is there a way to change the framing color of images on the website?
My question: Is there a way to change the framing color in web view to something neutral like white or grey? The backstory: I always view Dropbox on my iOS app but I had a client complain about artifacting on images delivered (another issue for another thread) so I went to the website to see what they might be seeing. I noticed that all of the images were "framed" with a warm beige-ish color instead of a neutral. This happened in both thumbnail views as well as individual image view. The client also complained that the images weren't warm enough. I am concerned that the warm color framing the photos changes their perception of how warm they are. I edit all my images with a neutral framing color (whether that is white, black or grey) so it is as versatile and accurate as possible.
Mobile app crashing on Android, when previewing certain Word docs
Hi. I have a Samsung S22 Ultra (One UI 5.1). Within the past few months, Dropbox (352.2.2) keeps crashing when I open certain word docs. These are files that have been in use for years without issue previously (always on Basic). I've tried making it available offline vs online only, and it doesn't matter. Error reads: "Something went wrong with Dropbox, etc." After enough tries, it tells me to clear the cache, which I do, still crashes. Tried uninstalling, then reinstalling, same issue. Eventually, the phone tells me that it's crashing too much and Dropbox is causing a battery problem, so maybe put it in a deep sleep, which I don't do. I can open a small word doc (22 kb) in the same folder, but not a slightly larger one (56 kb). I can open all of them if exported to Microsoft Word. I can also open them on my Macbook, so the files are not corrupted.
Dropbox Capture not working since I updated to MacOS Sonoma
Good morning, everyone. Since I updated from MacOS Ventura 13.6 to MacOS Sonoma 14, Dropbox Capture has stopped working. Specifically, the app allows me to record the video, and I can see it in the rendering queue on the app. However, when I try to open it via a Dropbox link, it doesn't display. It remains in a perpetual loading state. I suppose this issue is somehow linked to what has been afflicting Dropbox for MacOS Sonoma for the past ten days, where the indexing of new files is completely stuck. Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I'm effectively stuck and can no longer send my clips to clients. This is having a really negative impact on my workflow and my relationship with my clients. Thank you.
