File requests
152 TopicsMake file prefixing an option - file requests
When someone requests a file using your request a file tool, the person who uploads the file's name gets added to the file name eg janedoe_filea.pdf . This is really frustrating and I end up having to rename my files. I did a search to solve the problem and I see there are other people that are quite frustrated by the problem but apparently there is no fix for this? Please let me know if there is a solution for this. thanks44KViews65likes49CommentsHow to brand File Request
I am looking for a way to customize the File Request landing page with our companies branding. I know how to customize the "File Share" feature with our logo, but the File Request is the feature that we need branding on. Any help greatly appreciated.9.6KViews48likes21CommentsFile Requests: View the email of the user who submitted a file
Regarding the new "File Request" functionality, the person submitted a file is asked for a valid email. How do I, the owner of the file request, view that email address? I can only see the person submitting's name, but not their email.16KViews41likes30CommentsFile Request - Please provide an option to NOT rename our uploaded files
We receive tons of file submissions from our business partners daily. However, a large part of the time I spend managing these submissions is spent renaming the files because they're automatically prefixed or suffixed with theDropbox username of the user that uploaded the file. This causes a lot of unnecessary work and wasted time. I am requesting that you allow us - the paying Dropbox users - the option to determine for ourselves if the Dropbox username is desired . . . or, if the original unaltered filenames are what we'd like to have to work with. Thank you. PS - If I've linked you to this message, it was because you had created or responded to a thread that included the terms File & Request. I know this may not apply to everyone, but if you think that this is a reasonable feature to add (at least, the option to not have the Dropbox user prefixed or suffixed onto the original file name), then please vote for and link other Dropbox members that you think might benefit from this feature, and promote this idea! I would like to permanently delete closed file requests. An identical issue was opened and marked as solved 2 years ago, but the underlying issue was never actually addressed. https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Files-folders/Can-i-delete-permantly-the-file-requests/td-p/208852 I wanted to +1 this previous issue, but the reply button wasn't working. Moreover, because the previous issue is already (erroneously) marked as solved, I figured I might get more traction by opening a new discussion.13KViews17likes15CommentsPassword for File Requests Links
I would like to see the same type of share link passwords for the "file requests" function as the download links. I love the idea of people being able to send me stuff, but I want to make sure only those with a password are able to add things. Thanks!3.6KViews7likes7CommentsDisplay requester's email address in File Request
I use File Request to help clients send sensitive information to me securely. To improve security and their confidence, it would be nice if they could verify that the File Request is going to me, not someone spoofing me. To do that, you could perhaps display the requester's email address on the File Request. This way, the file sender can easily see who will receive their file, and confirm it is the person they are trying to send it to.1.3KViews4likes4Comments
