Fellow DropBox Community Members, If you don't already know this, Third-Party AI is automatically set to "ON" without our permission. To FIX THIS: Go to your Account Icon > Settings > Third-Party AI and toggle OFF. Why DropBox thought it was a good idea not to be up front about this change is beyond me. But it's *very shady* and I'm not happy about it! I'm a longtime customer but I know I have other options and will leave if DropBox gets way too cozy with Third-Party AI folks. As a photographer is use Dropbox to transmit, store and handle my files. lately when running a search for the word "FIRE", the search function returned multiple pictures from my archive with flames in them. Question 1: has my Photography Archive been subject to Ai image analysis? (which it obviously has been...) - what kind? - by what tools? and most importantly, where did i concent to any of it? (yes i read the 'Legal' page thoroughly) disclaimer: as an event photographer i am involved in all kinds of Private, Open & Deeply personal moments from peoples lives, i have an Etheic Moral and Legal duty to protect my clients, partners, models, childrens & friends privacy, dignity and basic right not to have their likeness and very life be used to feed some data set somewhere withiout their knowlege and concent. i use Generative Ai tools as part of my personal and professional creative research, i see the potential, but am also aware of the possible implications. Question 2: has my Phototography Archive (my body of work) been compromised, sold, copied or in any other way transfered to any third party without my concent? i think you get where im going with this.... am i doomed to have my stuff be fed to the Ai data machine by simply having it on the internet? i am only asking because i am already extremely doubtfull of my future as an Artist and Creative Professional. i love Dropbox a lot and use it all the time and recommend it to everyone, i really hope i don't soon grow to regret it... would love to hear your thoughts. ~T187.Solved2.7KViews1like4CommentsDropbox audio transcription feature
Hi, I have three questions to ask you: 1. I upload an audio file, I have Dropbox AI transcribe it into words, I see on the side that the text is divided in short paragraphs (I think breaking between different people talking), and then when I copy the text and past it into .Word, it pastes it into one big chunk of text. Is there a way to copy it and past it maintaining the paragraphs? 2. Also, if there a different way to produce a .Word or similar document out of the transcript without having to copy and paste it and thus run into the problem I encountered? 3. It seems to me that AI Dropbox is quite accurate in the transcription. Is there any way for me to improve the quality of the transcription besides recording the sound/interview in a quiet place and with a good recorder? I did not see an option for my question. Did anyone receive an email message from "Dropbox <no reply@em-s.dropbox.com requesting feedback about Dropbox? Whoever created the email the "Leave a Review" button was not functioning. Is this a hoax? I tried to contact Dropbox, but was unable to because I only have a "free" account, which means I cannot contact anyone. I feel sad that because I am poor and cannot afford an upgrade, I cannot contact Dropbox about anything. Using both Chrome and Brave browsers on Mac: When I click "new chat," no matter what I type in, I just keep getting this message: "Sorry, I couldn’t find the answer to your question. I’m either still learning about your content or don’t have access to the apps required to find the answer. Try connecting more apps and asking again, or using the search bar to find anything I might have missed." I have connected Dropbox and Google Calendar. It should have access to my apps related to the questions I'm asking. I've even tried starting a chat with "Hello," but it doesn't seem to be able to do anything whatsoever.
