ATTN: Third-Party AI is toggled to ON automatically
Fellow DropBox Community Members, If you don't already know this, Third-Party AI is automatically set to "ON" without our permission. To FIX THIS: Go to your Account Icon > Settings > Third-Party AI and toggle OFF. Why DropBox thought it was a good idea not to be up front about this change is beyond me. But it's *very shady* and I'm not happy about it! I'm a longtime customer but I know I have other options and will leave if DropBox gets way too cozy with Third-Party AI folks. Sincerely, ECM

Using AI to sort and search my photos
Hi, it's 2024 . IA is here. Please, scan all my photo and suggest something to sort them or help me find what I need. I have a Folder "Camera Uploads"with more than 30 000 photos from my phone. It is impossible to sort them or search them or even to navigate in the folder. Ex : I want to find the photo in a night market in china . It takes seconds within the Iphone. It is impossible on dropbox except if the photo is named "night market china" (spoiler : it isn't) . So Dropbox is good to save the pictures but barely usable to use/search for them . Please do something

Movement of Files
Suddenly files seem to get moved from my desktop to Dropbox unbeknowst to me. If this continues, I will cease to use your services. If I have given you permission to do this, then I rescind that permission. I do not need AI doing my thinking, planning, etc. I may be old (84) but I'm still capable of making my own decisions.

I did not see an option for my question. Did anyone receive an email message from "Dropbox <no reply@em-s.dropbox.com requesting feedback about Dropbox? Whoever created the email the "Leave a Review" button was not functioning. Is this a hoax? I tried to contact Dropbox, but was unable to because I only have a "free" account, which means I cannot contact anyone. I feel sad that because I am poor and cannot afford an upgrade, I cannot contact Dropbox about anything. P.S. the "free" options does not allow me to even ask a simple question.

Use alt text in the website preview 'info' pane
As you know the inclusion of ALT TEXT is becoming more and more important due to regulations made in consideration of those who may have accessibility challenges. First of all, in Dropbox, the INFO pane that appears next to an image does not include the ALT TEXT section that is now a part of the IPTC standard. What would be nice is to be able to access the INFO section for an image (or a group of images) and edit the IPTC. This would include the ability to add or edit the ALT TEXT section within Dropbox itself. Perhaps there is a way to add ALT TEXT automatically to images within dropbox using Dropbox AI? This would be most helpful. Just a thought....thank you.

A Photographers question on Ai Image Analysis & Ai Data Collection,- Concent, Rights & Implicaions
As a photographer is use Dropbox to transmit, store and handle my files. lately when running a search for the word "FIRE", the search function returned multiple pictures from my archive with flames in them. Question 1: has my Photography Archive been subject to Ai image analysis? (which it obviously has been...) - what kind? - by what tools? and most importantly, where did i concent to any of it? (yes i read the 'Legal' page thoroughly) disclaimer: as an event photographer i am involved in all kinds of Private, Open & Deeply personal moments from peoples lives, i have an Etheic Moral and Legal duty to protect my clients, partners, models, childrens & friends privacy, dignity and basic right not to have their likeness and very life be used to feed some data set somewhere withiout their knowlege and concent. i use Generative Ai tools as part of my personal and professional creative research, i see the potential, but am also aware of the possible implications. Question 2: has my Phototography Archive (my body of work) been compromised, sold, copied or in any other way transfered to any third party without my concent? i think you get where im going with this.... am i doomed to have my stuff be fed to the Ai data machine by simply having it on the internet? i am only asking because i am already extremely doubtfull of my future as an Artist and Creative Professional. i love Dropbox a lot and use it all the time and recommend it to everyone, i really hope i don't soon grow to regret it... would love to hear your thoughts. ~T187.
