Read-only file, only on Dropbox for Android (!)
One file, docx., in a Dropbox directory - and only that file - appears as "only-read file" when I open it in Dropbox app for Android. Instead I can modify it without problems when I use the app on Windows 10 PC. I have copied the file from Dropbox to my PC, deleted it on Dropbox and uploaded it again: nothing changed. I reinstalled Dropbox on my Android tablet, no way. Others similar files in the game directory of Dropbox work perfectly. Can you help me, please? Thanks.

Trying to keep folder structure when backing up from phone to Dropbox
With my Dropbox subscription I setup my phone app to make backup of all my files I selected, no matter internal or external storage BUT, the problem I'm facing since I enabled this feature long time ago with different phones is that it doesn't backup the files with the same current folder structure I have in my phone, it appears in the cloud all the files in one single folder. It is possible to fix this? If not, is there a planned schedule to enable this useful feature soon? I'm in the process to migrate to a new flag mobile phone model where it doesn't comes with internal storage (currently my files are well structures in the internal SD card) and my concern is that if the mobile get very damaged (not possible to turn on) or stolen, I wouldn't be able to recover the information as Ihave in my phone within their folders structure and would be a mess to classify them all again. Can no longer save current or new MS word or excel file on dropbox with android devices.
I can no longer save current or new Ms word or excel files on dropbox, when I try and do so I get "Can't edit - This file is read-only. To edit it, first save a copy of the file". I get this even on brand new files never saved before, when I select Save a copy it comes up with the same meesage again. It works fine with my laptop just my phone and tablet are having the issue. Tablet Galaxy Tab A8: Android version 13 Dropbox app version: 320.2.10 MS word version: 1.0.1 (16.0.16227.20132) I have signed out and signed in, un-installed and re-installed, updated everything to latest versions, restarted everything.

Android App stopped showing most recent version of .txt file
I have a Grocery List text file in the Dropbox folder on my PC that I also access on my phone via the app. The app has stopped pulling up the most recent version of the text file. Here are further details: 1. The app accurately tells me when the file was last changed. E.g. it currently says "modified 18 seconds ago." But when I open it, the file does not contain the changes from 18 seconds ago. Two hours later, it STILL won't. 2. If I tap the icon to create a link to the file and paste it into Chrome, the link will pull up the most recent version. But I cannot find any way in the app to refresh the file so that it shows that version, even though it's clearly out there. EXCEPT if I edit the file on my phone and save the changes, it will save it as a "conflicted copy" and will then update the display to show the most recent version of the original file. 3. Getting out of the Dropbox app and back in does not cause it to find the most recent version of the file, not even if I Force Stop the app and restart it. 4. Rebooting the phone does not cause the app to find the most recent version of the file. 5. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app did not fix the problem. Anyone have any idea how this might be fixed?

Dropbox hangs on Android when editing text file
I love Dropbox but I have a problem editing text files on Android. It happens every day, I want to make some note and write for a few minutes, then when I click save the message appears "the application has crashed". Very similar message I get when editing text files and switching to another window and going back to Dropbox file editor - this scenario makes Dropbox crash every time. Some solution would be Great!!!

Can't rename folders or files on Android - "rename" button greyed out
Select Rename for a folder or file. The rename popup shows Rename button greyed out, so one has to select Cancel. Android version 364.2.2 on Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 and phone Galaxy A22 5G.

No longer able to open .txt files in Dropbox editor on Android phone app, asked to convert to Google
Starting this week, I am unable to open my .txt files with the Dropbox Editor on the Dropbox Android phone app. I am now being presented with the following message: Upload to View This file type can only be viewed if it is first uploaded and converted into a Google Docs file. Do you want to continue? I do not want to use Google Docs for my .txt files. I have tried that provided option, but you then must tie the document to a Google account, and it does annoying auto-formatting and such which I am purposely trying to avoid by using .txt files in the first place. Is Dropbox editor being deprecated? Is there any way to use another text editor on my device instead of converting to a Google Doc and tying back to a Google account? I am unable to even try to open this document using another editor now, you get the same 'Upload to View' message when clicking the kabab menu too

Editing Word document on Android mobile
I am able to edit Excel files stored in Dropbox; however, Word documents say Read Only and state I need to say a copy of my original file to be able to edit it. I can't see anything different in the signin information or app settings within Word and Excel. Is this a known issue or do you have a suggestion in trouble shooting this issue?

Editing PDF'S on a Xiaomi tablet ? Works fine on Windows, Mac, iPad, but not on this Tablet.
Has anyone managed to get the edit a PDF working on a Xiaomi tablet? (I am on MIUI 14.0.4) Editing PDF's from within the dropbox website works fine on Windows, Mac, iPad, using any browser. However on this Xiaomi, I have tried 5 browsers, and none of them will show the "Edit" menu item at the top when the PDF is open. Did not want to go down the the path of launching a PDF edit app, one of the other guys has tried this with mixed results. Native editing in Dropbox, like i can do on iPad would be best.

I can't open a Word or Excel file on Dropbox on my Android phone. From Excel app : Open Add a place Dropbox => message box : Can't complete task Office encoutered a problem. From dropbox app : I click on an xlsx file Open with Microsoft Excel ==> Message box : Microsoft Office Integration would like access to the files and folders in your Dropbox. Learn More => I click on Allow (By the way, this message appear each time I try again, and I always click on Allow). => Please Wait => Opening... Then I am back in the Open menu of Microsoft Excel I click on "Browse" and find my file in Dropbox, I click on it ===> Microsoft Excel shuts down!! Please help, thanks in advance.
