Trying to keep folder structure when backing up from phone to Dropbox
With my Dropbox subscription I setup my phone app to make backup of all my files I selected, no matter internal or external storage BUT, the problem I'm facing since I enabled this feature long time ago with different phones is that it doesn't backup the files with the same current folder structure I have in my phone, it appears in the cloud all the files in one single folder. It is possible to fix this? If not, is there a planned schedule to enable this useful feature soon? I'm in the process to migrate to a new flag mobile phone model where it doesn't comes with internal storage (currently my files are well structures in the internal SD card) and my concern is that if the mobile get very damaged (not possible to turn on) or stolen, I wouldn't be able to recover the information as Ihave in my phone within their folders structure and would be a mess to classify them all again. No longer able to open .txt files in Dropbox editor on Android phone app, asked to convert to Google
Starting this week, I am unable to open my .txt files with the Dropbox Editor on the Dropbox Android phone app. I am now being presented with the following message: Upload to View This file type can only be viewed if it is first uploaded and converted into a Google Docs file. Do you want to continue? I do not want to use Google Docs for my .txt files. I have tried that provided option, but you then must tie the document to a Google account, and it does annoying auto-formatting and such which I am purposely trying to avoid by using .txt files in the first place. Is Dropbox editor being deprecated? Is there any way to use another text editor on my device instead of converting to a Google Doc and tying back to a Google account? Can no longer save current or new MS word or excel file on dropbox with android devices.
I can no longer save current or new Ms word or excel files on dropbox, when I try and do so I get "Can't edit - This file is read-only. To edit it, first save a copy of the file". I get this even on brand new files never saved before, when I select Save a copy it comes up with the same meesage again. It works fine with my laptop just my phone and tablet are having the issue. How do i stop Automatic scrolling to bottom of page?
When entering data into a new text file the screen automatically scrolls to the bottom of the page and I have to manually go to the top again to enter data but after a few seconds it go to the bottom again. Very annoying. It just started this a few months ago. I tried deleting the app on my Android device and reinstalling and signing in. No luck. For the last couple of weeks the Paper app on Android has been acting up, I have several documents with formatting, mainly bullet list and pictures, when I tried to edit a document already in Paper I lose all of the formatting and even the pictures, I had to go to the desktop version an roll back to a previous version of the document, I can not edit or create new documents with formatting, my android version has been working good for years and all of the sudden I have this issue that is really inconvenient because I really need to use my phone or tablet to work on my documents, I'm not in front of my laptop all day. I already uninstalled the Paper and the Dropbox apps a couple of times and reinstalled with no luck. Any ideas of what might be the problem?Solved4.2KViews1like40Comments
