46 TopicsWe are on the Advanced plan for business team - do we really have unlimited storage?
I hope I'm doing this correctly as I am new to this but - have I misunderstood something? The reason I'm paying the $75.00 a month is forunlimited storagefor my partners and I to have space to store the gigantic wav libraries we tend to accumulate producing various music projects. Did all of us misread something or is the Dropbox unlimited storage similar to your phone carrier's unlimited data. If that is the case I think $75.00 is an astronomical amount of money to be paying for only 3TB. That's highway robbery! Apple costs less per TB. We initially read seperatley then together all the info provided and came to the conclusion that unlimited storage means unlimited storage. I remember reading about 3TB but we would be given more as needed. If there is a part of the guide I misread or the help section or something that anyone knows about it would mean the world. Thank You.Solved6.5KViews0likes6CommentsFolders not visible to Admins
We have outsourced the Team Admin role on our business account to a 3rd party. We want to see the totality of folders and subfolders etc. that have been created in our Dropbox Business Standard account. Our Team Admin says they can't see all root level folders unless they have been given specific permission to view them. Is that correct? Is there a way for an Admin to see all folders that have been created without having to assign them read permissions to every folder? How can we assign permissions to folders we can't see and don't know if they exist?Solved5.4KViews0likes8CommentsApr 20 2024 Team Folder / Personal Folder Update is affecting my workflow
RE https://help.dropbox.com/plans/upcoming-business-team-changes#beforechecklist This has created a HUGE NIGHTMARE!!! Have called into support and created several tickets to this but doesn't seem there's any urgency or response from the 'escalation team' 1. As an ADMIN I cannot see or manage ALL of the folders and files in our Dropbox account because of the Team and Personal Folders - So now I can't see what data is being duplicated and increasing our storage. 2. As an ADMIN I cannot move data from a Team Folder. Also cannot COPY data out of a Team Folder, can only move or copy into another Team Folder 3. Paths and mappings have been ruined to our local data and Synology NAS devices using Cloud Sync. - Now this requires us choking our bandwidth for days/weeks so that we can restore our local data.2.8KViews1like8CommentsAdmin Console Questions
In Admin Console, under Members, I see "People with your team's email domain" and "People your team works with". Both of these areas show lists of people who are either no longer with my company or we no longer work with them. I can't seem to figure out what is causing users to show up in these areas. How do I track this down and remove these users so that they no longer show up. Thank you2.8KViews0likes8CommentsLost the ability to manage shares as admin
Hi everyone! I'm quite confused since Dropbox seemed to get rid of one of our most used admin-features. In the past (until early march) i was able to browse and search folders which are shared between users, even if i (as an admin) did not have any permissions to them. I could then click "manage" and change ownership, add/remove users, etc, but couldn't browse the content (via this page https://www.dropbox.com/team/admin/content/home). This resulted in a notification to the owner of the share. Now, this feature seems to be completely gone. I already had a discussion with the support-team via mail. I'm not sure if they got what i was referring to, but the statement was "there was propably a change, it's not possible". Actually i am quite shocked that this was removed without any notice (at least i can't find anything). We can't be the only company using and missing this feature, right? It was quite elemental for our daily user-support until now. Am i missing something here? Is it still somehow possible to administrate all shared folders without being authorized by the owner? Hello! I could really use better ability to view and manage external access to files and folders. Today it took hours to go through and verify that an external participant did not have access to files and folders. Even if I could search for an external participant's email (or partial email), and then review all the files and folders that had been shared with that person, it would have saved time and assisted me with the task of re-securing our files and folders.2.4KViews2likes5CommentsAudit file/folder access for large Business / Group Dropbox account
I've taken over management of an organisation with several large business dropbox accounts. I can see we have a large amount of data that has been shared with external parties, there has been no oversight of this and it would appear that there are some documents that are sensitive that have been shared that shouldn't have been. I really need to audit the entire tenant, and I will need to do so reasonably regularly going forward, but I can't seem to find the tools to do so. Other threads on this site suggest that our only option is to use the the command line API tool to script our own audit of Dropbox access? Can you confirm that this is the case? To be explicit, what I am looking for is to be able to list folders / folder paths and which groups or individual users are able to access that folder, or if some other sharing feature has been used to allow access to those files outside of the immediate users that have primary access to the dropbox tenant. Are there any tools that allow this for Dropbox?1.8KViews1like5CommentsHow can I block users, from trying to join our team?
We have a bit of a security risk with dropbox. Somehow dropbox is prompting external third parties to request to join our team. This is very simply not OK. We have over 100+ requests to join our team. If they join, we have some folders with all team access that are highly confidential. It will take an admin just a mistake ONE time for this to occur. Such bad UX Does anyone know how to turn this off? I've been trying for a while, but it's totally ridiculous. Dropbox is definitely doing something to prompt users, because there is NO reason for them to request access otherwise.Solved1.5KViews0likes2Comments
