As an admin, I want to be able to easily see what folders a specific user belongs to. I'd love to be a be able to go to the "Members" page, click on a user, and then see a list of all the folders they have access to. If I need to partially reduce a specific users folder access, I would currently have to click "Share" next to each folder and look through who the members were. And even then, if they belong to a folder I don't, I won't know they are on it. I'd also like to be able to change their permission and uninvite them to those folders from that same view. So, once I've opened the "Members" page, clicked on the user, and am looking at the folders they belong to, I'd want to be able to make edits from there.42KViews64likes75CommentsHow to read detailed activity logs
I am trying to troubleshoot a problem reported by my users, and am looking at a Dropbox for Business detailed activity log. It immediately raises about a million questions, about how to parse and interpret the log. Is there a written guide anywhere that explains this? Surely someone has some notes on things like: Most of what you want is in the Info field, which you're going to have to split on colons, commas, brackets, and braces (each of which delineates ... what?). The Info field starts with a WHATISIT? field that is one of these in double quotes: target_users, host_id, member_ids, file_obj_id, file_name, ... Specific things are referred to by their _id fields, which you can translate into object names by ....?Solved12KViews0likes3CommentsCustomisable Admin roles
I'm unsure if it has been suggested or not, but I would like to be able to customise admin roles have just the 3 admin roles, I find is not flexible enough. For example I don't wont to give an user full blown team admin rights but I want some of those team admin rights adding to the user management admin so they can also managed team folders etc. If Dropbox can allow to create and customise admin roles would be great.7.4KViews2likes5CommentsMy personal account was accidentally merged into a Business Account
I have a personal Dropbox account for my work as a journalist. My business partner created a new Business Account and invited me to join only to access certain files. When I went to accept the system asked to "merge" the accounts and not understanding what that meant, I clicked yes. Then Dropbox notified me that my personal account was closed and they were refunding me my fee. How do I extricate myself from this? I do not want to own the Business Account or have that for my own Dropbox, I only need access to it. How do I restore my Personal account and revive the subscription? The person who created the new business account says it was a mistake, but doesn't know how to fix it and one can't "call" Dropbox, nor is there a way to change accounts. I hope I'm doing this correctly as I am new to this but - have I misunderstood something? The reason I'm paying the $75.00 a month is forunlimited storagefor my partners and I to have space to store the gigantic wav libraries we tend to accumulate producing various music projects. Did all of us misread something or is the Dropbox unlimited storage similar to your phone carrier's unlimited data. If that is the case I think $75.00 is an astronomical amount of money to be paying for only 3TB. That's highway robbery! Apple costs less per TB. We initially read seperatley then together all the info provided and came to the conclusion that unlimited storage means unlimited storage. I remember reading about 3TB but we would be given more as needed. If there is a part of the guide I misread or the help section or something that anyone knows about it would mean the world. Thank You.Solved6.5KViews0likes6CommentsFolders not visible to Admins
We have outsourced the Team Admin role on our business account to a 3rd party. We want to see the totality of folders and subfolders etc. that have been created in our Dropbox Business Standard account. Our Team Admin says they can't see all root level folders unless they have been given specific permission to view them. Is that correct? Is there a way for an Admin to see all folders that have been created without having to assign them read permissions to every folder? How can we assign permissions to folders we can't see and don't know if they exist?Solved5.4KViews0likes8CommentsHow to get the current folder structure Dropbox for Business
Hello Dropbox community, I am currently new in an organization and they wanted me to audit the current Dropbox folder structure that they have. One of the requirements that they asked me is to generate a report: 1. All Files and Folders created, owned and shared by the team. 2. To whom were these files was shared. Would there be any easy way to generate this report in Dropbox? Intention is to check current setup/structure that they have from that report we would come up on how to improve and organize our data. Thanks.Solved5.4KViews0likes4CommentsMonitoring file download by team members
Hi, Is there a way that I can see when and how frequently my team members have downloaded specific files from shared folders? I am planning to share valuable information with my team and I don't want them to download these onto their own computer. thank you.5.1KViews0likes6Comments
