Sync dropbox across multiple locations/hard drives
I have a larger dropbox account than my primary hard drive. It would be great if dropbox could support virtual links to files outside of it's default location, without those files having to also be in the main dropbox folder. I am aware of shortcuts/aliases on windows/OSX, but those don't solve the problem if my primary drive has limited space.
This is one workaround, but native support through the Dropbox client would be ideal: http://bobmckay.com/software/split-dropbox-across-multiple-drives

Yes, please. Seems like an obviously useful feature that is entirely missing. Being able to split off a working folder onto smaller SSD (since 1TB and greater drives are still quite expensive) would be incredibly beneficial for those of us that are working with files where disk access speed can improve performance.

IF this isn't resolved by the time my one year subscription expires I'm cancelling and trying another service. Ridiculuos how DB is ignoring this common request.

Another person who recently upgraded Dropbox account and many ways in which I would make good use of the service would involve splitting files across volumes, combination of laptop SSD and external HDD... dissapointing that there's no support for this.

Very disappointed that this is not a feature, will be unsubscribing within the year.

Bump.
Would also like to see this feature because I plan on buying an external hard drive.
Choosing which folders you want to move to another drive (or even another location on the same drive) would be awesome!

Im seriously thinking about cancelling my subcription to db. Not flexible enough in my opinion

The continuing trend with laptops is toward smaller faster SSD's, especially on the Mac side. We are anxious to increase to the business account across our company. But the inability to split our dropbox folder onto external drives and the internal drive simultaneously is keeping us from upgrading. We do a lot of video post-production and it would be really great to house our files in accessible locations on multiple drives with all the Dropbox features supporting the work flow. We have our mouse fingers crossed there will be a new urgencey placed on this feature.

Same case here. I would upgrade from free to a Dropbox Business Advanced accound if this request is implemented.
- PaulRoosExplorer | Level 3Same for me. I don't understand DropBox is ignoring this request. If they continue doing so I will unsubscribe.

We would like this too. Having to put all our files (including our project archive) on one volume really messes with our backup strategy.
