51 TopicsUser restrictions on bulk deletion or moving
It would be great if it were possible to set a user so they cannot perform bulk deletions or moves of files. One of the users, who does not have admin rights, accidentally moved a folder with 350,000 files. As a result, we lost the functionality of the links when returning the folder back. It would therefore be great if some users could be restricted so that it is not possible to move or delete files beyond a certain quota.228Views1like3CommentsOption to link multiple Dropbox team accounts on the same device
Problem: Our Managing Director manages multiple organizations, each with separate Dropbox Business accounts. Since there’s no option to switch between business accounts easily, he has to repeatedly sign out and sign in to access each account. This is time-consuming, inconvenient, and disrupts workflow—especially during critical moments when quick access to files across both accounts is needed. Proposed Solution: Introduce a business account switching feature similar to the existing personal account switching functionality. This would allow users to connect multiple Dropbox Business accounts and switch between them seamlessly without having to log out and log in each time. Key Benefits: Increased Productivity: No more interruptions from logging in and out multiple times a day. Users can quickly access the files they need from any account. Improved User Experience: A simplified workflow for professionals and business leaders who oversee multiple organizations. Enhanced Collaboration: Easier access to shared resources across accounts, benefiting not only executives but also team members who might work across multiple business entities. This feature would be valuable for executives, consultants, or managers who work with multiple businesses and need streamlined access to their Dropbox accounts for efficient multitasking.189Views0likes1CommentPlease allow pairing of more than two accounts.
Please allow pairing of more than two accounts. As a contractor, I am a member of a company's business account, a team member of another company, and have my personal account. It is frustrating to only be able to pair two of them, so that when I need to access the third, I have to completely sign out of the others and sign in fresh for the third.17KViews40likes84CommentsFilter Option: Add Filter Type For Content with Comment
When I'm collaborating with my clients, I usually have them comment on photos/videos, this way I can see what my clients think about the product. I would love to see Dropbox include an integration where we can filter the folder to show which content in a folder has a comment in it. Unless there is another way of doing this, please drop a comment; otherwise, I would love to see this feature.1.3KViews1like6CommentsUse the admin 'Sign in as User' feature on the desktop app
It would be great toapply the "sign in as user" feature to the desktop app. I would like to set up a device before giving it to the user, but don't want to go through the process of getting their password, and coordinate receiving codes364Views0likes2CommentsAdmin report on folders by filters such as folder type, folder owner, amount of data in the folder
I'd love to be able to pull of a report of all Folders, ideally to include Folder Type, Folder owner, last modified and amount of data in the folder. Would be very useful for housekeeping of folders.1.2KViews1like6CommentsPrevent members from Moving any folders within team folders.
I've seen a topic like the one I'm writing now suggesting to prevent team members from moving any selected folders. I came here just to emphasis how this feature (Member roles Or Folder restrictions) is VERY important in business and I can tell in short words what happed to the business yesterday when one of the member mistakenly moved one of the HOT working projects to another destination. The project literally paralyzed for around 3 hours after noticing the MOVING action and trying to fix it and not to mention what happened to the team when suddenly they couldn't save their work(Media footage editing) the moment the files disappeared and also the whole team was setting waiting for the synchronization process to finish (first the mistaken moving and next moving back the moved folder to its original path). Wish we can have a specific restriction on selected folders and giving the permission to move to selected member by the admin. Here is a recap for my suggestion suggestion: FOLDER SETTINGS ---------- VIEWING , EDITING, MOVING ON ON OFF USERS PERMESSIONS DELETING, MOVING OFF OFF858Views2likes2CommentsAllow Dropbox Business team sync online-only settings for more than the parent or one subfolder
There is a major limitation with dropbox in that you can only change the global sync default settings for parent and one sub-ordinate folder in global settings. I want to set default sync settings to online only for team members for third, fourth, fifth level sub-ordinate folders. It is not practical or reasonable to do this on a machine by machine level. I don't understand why there is a restriction at all. Raised with Dropbox Support, who were the most unhelpful with their responses.420Views0likes4CommentsDropbox Passwords: Option to disable password info for teams
Yes, there are many options where "advanced" users can get the password when it loads in the password field, but this would be useful for most cases. Cases where we want to share login data and remove that access when the user is no longer in the team. 100% reliable? Sure not, but a nice feature.511Views0likes4Comments
