Dropbox Dash | What you need to know
Thank you for testing the Dropbox Dash beta and for joining this group. Any feedback you can share with us will be valuable to us as we continue to work on this experience. Please note: Dropbox early releases are subject to additional terms and conditions. This post will outline some of the changes you can expect to see in this beta release and what we are hoping to test. What to expect from the Dropbox Dash beta experience The Dropbox Dash beta experience is currently available to users who choose to opt-in. Dash connects with all your work tools including: Google Workspace, Microsoft Outlook, Salesforce, Notion and many more. You’ll have instant access to all the info you need to do your best work. With Dash, one search bar is all it takes to find exactly what you’re looking for. You can use Dropbox Dash by downloading the beta here. Dash is available as a desktop app and as a web browser plugin. Testing Goals We are testing a number of different things as part of this beta experience, but there are three key areas we want to focus on: Search: How easily users are able to find their content through the Dash search functionality, and how well the search works across various apps. Stacks: We want to evaluate how stacks are working for users to organise their links and content, along with any changes that could be made to improve the experience. Dash Starting Page: Similar to stacks, we want to determine how the dash starting page is assisting users, and providing them with useful recommendations of what they are working on next. Dash local files support
I really wanted to use Dash for local files support. And it totally disappeared. I would even further like it to be able to search also for Google Drive files as they appear on the local storage (even if they are online only). I really prefer to work with all files from local storage.
Suggestions of utilizing dropbox dash stacks, dropbox paper sections, and regular file folders
Hello, I would like to learn from your valuable input regarding document organization, combining regular folders, Dropbox Paper sections/internal links, and the new Dash stacks. As a quick example, I've created a Dropbox Paper document on "TOPIC A" and structured it as a guiding document with internal citations referencing local files in our folders, added under the Dropbox paper section "TOPIC A." In my exploration of Dropbox Dash stacks, I've also set up a stack named "TOPIC A" and used the Dash browser extension to add relevant documents (linked to the internal citations in the Dropbox Paper) along with the previously created Dropbox Paper into the "TOPIC A" stack. This is my first attempt at using Dash, and I'm aware that I might be using these three organizational tools in ways that could be more efficient. I would greatly appreciate hearing about your experiences, thoughts, comments, or any suggestions you may have for optimizing our document organization with the available Dropbox tools, or if you have any other tools that you've found useful.
