Company issued computer will most definitely have encryption/password policies. Even if i can't brick the device remotely, it probably wont be able to login
Personal devices not so much. Imagine a laptop without encryption/password lock getting stolen and that computer has company data synched to it

Thanks for the details, in this instance, it wouldn't be possible to restrict the login of the Dropbox desktop application from a personal device.
The only possibility would be to have an SSO login which could only be activated using information provided by the workplace.
