How do I disable Dropbox Backup?
How do I get rid of Dropbox Backup -- the PC folder that appeared in my Dropbox folder? It includes folders I don't want backed up, i.e., Documents and Downloads. I'm on a PC.

Hi there Susanna S.2, thank you for reaching out.
You can disable computer backup, following the steps on this article.
Make sure to select "Keep content in folders on this PC" during the process, to return the folders to their original location.
Cheers!

Hi ClockRoy, welcome to our Community!
As a first thing, you need to make sure you're checking your desktop app, and not accidentally looking at your account online for these tabs. Have you tried accessing your Sync tab, using the app's preferences?
Can you also try to disable the feature online, using your Backup page? Give it a go, and let me know of any updates.
Thanks!

Hi Megan,
I have the app on my desktop PC and if I single click nothing happens, if I double click it opens Dropbox with the explorer window and all files are shown but there is no home or other Dropbox to click. If I open the app on my tablet I have the menu and home button etc. I can access personal details settings etc. But there is no preferences tab. Also when online on the Dropbox site I cannot find a backup page. Why cant you just make it easy to access backup from the tablet app? I just have loads to delete from backup and free up space.
Best regards, Roy

Hi ClockRoy, could you send me a couple of screenshots of what you see on your end, on your device?
Also, please make sure you're clicking on this icon, that's located next to your WiFi on the task bar.

Hi ClockRoy, thanks for the screenshots!
It seems you're not clicking on the right icon, in order to follow the steps. This icon will open your Dropbox content locally, not the app's settings.
You'd need to locate your Dropbox icon on the task bar, next to your WiFi, and date-and-time icon.
Can you see it there, and follow the steps?
