250 TopicsCan I have multiple Dropbox accounts on one device?
I currently use the Dropbox desktop app with one account, syncing sticker WhatsApp group files seamlessly. However, I also have a second Dropbox account, and I’m wondering if it’s possible to log into both accounts on the same device via the Dropbox installer. How can I switch between accounts, or is there a way to manage both without needing to log out and back in? I'm using personal accounts, not part of a team, and I want to keep both accounts synced for different projects. Could anyone guide me through this process?21Views0likes1Comment"Can't import photos from this device" pop up: add "don't show this again" checkbox
this request is due to a nuisance: i use dropbox to backup the pix from my phone. this popup appears every time i connect the phone to the computer, while the phone is locked. sometimes this pop up appress again a few minutes later for no apparent reason or trigger. connecting my phone might mean i just want it charged, i don't always require an immediate file transfer. the pop up is intrusive and stays on top of everything else. this pop up has no easy closing button (just the system's red dot), and the only options suggested are to "Get mobile app" (which i have, so who's dumb now?!) and "Why dropbox can't import" which leads to your website. but I KNOW ALL THAT, AND I SIMPLY DON'T NEED MY PHOTOS IMPORTED RIGHT NOW. i really do not need this annoying pop up screen. customer support has led me here. please consider letting me dismiss this pop up forever. love and peace, yaneev529Views1like2CommentsIs there a way to set the Dropbox folder via the command line?
Hi Dropbox HUGELY EXASPERATING -- NO WAY TO MOVE / SET THE DROPBOX ON-PC FILE LOCN ON COMMAND LINE INSTALLS #Dropbox - presuming you are here, WHY am I having to ask the Community to help with such an OBVIOUS NEED ?????????? #### YOU SHOULD FIX THIS, DROPBOX -- IT'S BEEN OVERLOOKED FOR YEARS. SORT IT OUT PLEASE - TODAY WOULD BE GOOD. This will take a decent programmer in your offices *20mins tops to document*. PROBLEM: THE HEADLESS DROPBOX - IDEAL FOR MANY LINUXES ****HAS NO WAY TO RELOCATE THE STORAGE FOLDER***** On Win / Mac / Ubuntu there's a GUI - but for the hundreds of other Linux situations, and most servers, WE USE COMMAND LINE -- but you FORCE US to put the synch folder in the most obviously idiotic place - under home. And moving it is then IMPOSSIBLE it seems. "Jane" replied with this helpful news three years ago on this thread: [ https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Apps-and-Installations/Unable-to-access-preference-menu-on-linux/td-p/232112/page/3 ] . ## SO DROPBOX -- what are the millions of us out here supposed to do ????? Can you FIX this IDIOTIC OMISSION please. I only ask because I have work associates who want Dropbox. (Cloud on Linux is massively simpler with Google Drive. Just works). Looking forward in anticipation to your detailed help. No sarcasm intended. (Apologies to all the good people in Community but there seems no way to actually reach a Dropbox person). Thanks MikeHLondon [ PS that detail advice from 2013 - it doesn't work. MHL ]3.5KViews2likes7CommentsI can't sign out of my account.
Hi Everyone, On my desktop app, my profile and preferences no longer show up on the home page so I can't log out of my Dropbox account. It was working fine on Monday but when I logged in yesterday, the avatar was no longer there. Has anyone had this problem? How do I fix it? The only things showing on the top part of the page are the search box, invite members and view upgrade options. I can't scroll any higher than that. Thanks for your help.Solved2.4KViews0likes4CommentsI can only sign in to the Dropbox app if I'm connected to OneDrive on Windows 11
I am on a surfaces Pro7 with Windows 11. I am able to sign into my Dropbox account as long as I am connected to one-drive. Once I disconnect one-drive, Dropbox does not let me sign in with the exact same user name/password. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated. Hi I was looking for my documents on my mac desktop and it has somehow now been linked directly to Dropbox, not my documents on my desktop mac. I cannot find any of my documents that were on my computer. In checking dropbox.com, some of the documents / folder are in Backup on dropbox for my previous Mac, but I need to stop Dropbox taking over my document folder on my current mac, and get back the docs that were happily there just a week ago. Any suggestions? thanks Jon133Views0likes1CommentCannot completely disable Dropbox Backup for an USB drive.
I plugged in a USB drive and got an annoying prompt about backing it up. I've never used the Dropbox Backup feature and don't want to, especially not for a drive I'm using itself as a backup. I turned off autoplay completely for now in my Windows settings, but I shouldn't have to do that in order not to use Dropbox Backup. The help page for this is out of date and describes a setting that doesn't exist. There appears to be no way whatsoever to disable backups. So, short of nuking Dropbox completely and moving on to something else for cloud storage, how do I disable the annoying backup feature?Solved1.3KViews0likes15Comments"Adjust Bandwidth limits" button in the Dropbox Backup menu [Advanced Settings] does not work.
My Dropbox Backup process has started, and is painfully slow. 8 hours and it hasn't uploaded 150 GB yet. So, I want to increase the upload bandwidth - however, the menu where these settings are found will not open. I click the button, and nothing happens. Does anyone have a solution?
