40% off with American Express?
Hello there,
There is an offer from American Express where I get 40% off. Does this apply for one month only, or for as long as my Dropbox subscription is active? I couldn't find any information on the American Express website and neither here in the Dropbox Community.
Thanks!
R.
Hi Riyadh
The Amex offer will tell you if you read it.
Usually its limited to a set value or date. So, if its the 31st Dec 2023 for example you'll often get multiple rebates back if they clear to the card before that. However, it isn't never ending - although they may give a new one after this expires.

Hello!
The 40% discount offer from American Express sounds great! Typically, such offers are valid for an initial promotional period—often for the first month or year of your subscription—rather than for the entire length of your Dropbox subscription. However, the specifics can vary, and the duration is sometimes dependent on the terms set by either American Express or Dropbox.
Since you couldn’t find detailed information on either site, it might be best to contact American Express support directly, as they can confirm the exact terms and conditions of this promotion. Additionally, reaching out to Dropbox support could help clarify how the discount will be applied on their end.
Hope this helps, and happy saving!

Hi, can anyone tell me how to activate the agreement with Amex? I saw that it is a partner and I read on this forum that you can get a discount on the plans, but they don't understand how you get it and from where. Thank you

Check the terms and conditions of the American Express offer. Typically, such discounts apply for a limited period, like the first month or year. Contact American Express or Dropbox support for specific details about the duration of the discount.

Hi Riyadh,
From what I know, American Express has a certain required spending amount for you to be able to avail of the 40% discount, and that , if I am not mistaken, at least $100.00 minimum purchase. So in this case, say if you subscribe to a Plus plan which is priced at $119.88 a year, that goes to show that you will only be eligible to get the 40% discount on yearly subscriptions (for personal accounts) . And I guess the 40% is really just equivalent to $40 credit ( 40% of $100) , not 40% off of the total plan's yearly pricing.

Thank you, @Mark.
I checked the offer over and over again, and the wording (it's from the German American Express branch) is ambiguous. It does sound like a one-time discount is given, so if I go for the yearly prepaid option, then I might get 40% on that, and otherwise it'll be 40% only on the first monthly plan payment.
I'll think about it, thanks again!
