Lost my updates on an Excel file after 'Resource Deadlock' warning
I was working on a file on Excel, I thought I had saved but possibly not.
The file was live in my window. Excel did not crash, but when I went back to Excel - it had disappeared and when I tried...

One other strange thing is that in my Dropbox History, it says I viewed the file 22 hours ago when I was actively editing the file then. It had changes at that time that I had put in early october. Now the file has reverted to a file in September. So I think I must have saved since September in October, or I wouldn't have seen those changes or the file didn't sync with my computer and I was editing a version on my computer. I am totally lost but no way of recovering what was in the spreadsheet as I was writing down sales on 3 Oct and again from yesterday and now have no idea what those were.

Hey CristinaW, thanks for reaching out to the Dropbox Community.
I'm afraid that if you can't find the newest version of your file in the version history on Dropbox, it means that the changes never actually synced, so there's no way to recover them through Dropbox.
Your best bet would be the version history of Excel, as the error you mentioned comes from Excel, not Dropbox.
Perhaps you can also contact Microsoft, to see if they can provide any additional info.
Let me know how it goes.
