Lost my updates on an Excel file after 'Resource Deadlock' warning
I was working on a file on Excel, I thought I had saved but possibly not. The file was live in my window. Excel did not crash, but when I went back to Excel - it had disappeared and when I tried opening it I got a Resource Deadlock Warning. I wasn't connected to the internet at the time. I probably should have checked my old files then but it didn't occur to me. When I was next on the internet I opened the file and it was a file from over 3 weeks ago. I have since searched everywhere on version history/events and my hard disk temporary files for the old file but only the version from September has come up. I feel probably no way of recovering but thought worth checking what went wrong and if anyone else has had this problem. Not sure if it is a dropbox or excel issue or a combination of the two.
My Excel formulas don't show properly on Dropbox.
My team and I work on a shared excel spreadsheet on dropbox. Recently we have had the issue that our formulas do not want to pull through correctly. The formula's solution only loads in when my the page is refreshed. Can someone please advise on how to fix this?
Can Google docs be edited in Dropbox?
Forgive me if this is a silly question: Many of my clients send me a google doc to edit/view dynamically, alongside them. Is there any way to have Google docs functionalit (have multiple people be able to edit and see changes in real time), but have that doc located/stored in a Dropbox folder on my desktop? I want to stop having to open my google drive folder and just have all my MS and Google docs loacted in my DB folder, but also keep the functionality of google docs.
Notification that Autodesk REVIT files are in use so the other users can't edit them
REVIT is using central models for managing and syncing REVIT files. When more than 1 user works on that central file the problem is syncing user file to that central model. Now the REVIT app crash after some time and the user lost all the changes and the local file is not synced with central file. So if there will be a solution (like on windows OS - smb share) that: - lets say 3 users are working locally on the same REVIT central file - than 1 user click to sync the file to central model, the 2nd and 3rd user (if they will try to sync at the same time as 1st user) will get some kind off notification, popup ... that file is in use or something like that. Then users (second, third, ... user) will know that someone is already syncing and they will try a min or two later ... this is how SMB file share and REVIT works locally (on local network). Hi, I hope I am asking this question in the right category. If not I am sorry. But my problem is that I have generated an Excel file on my desktop and copied and pasted into my Dropbox. When I open this file in Dropbox on my iPhone I can view, cut and copy the file but I cannot edit it. I have the Excel app installed on my phone, but even using the app the function to edit is not there. Does anybody out there know a solution to this as I am led to believe I should be able to edit this kind of file
I can only edit the first tab of an Excel sheet through Dropbox
I have a report with two tabs. I can only open to edit with open in excel, when I open I only have access to the first tab, the second tab is always blank. How can I open and have access to both tabs. I have tried opening with the second one open and it always opens up BLANK although the tab is in the primary report in DropBox.
