- Hi everybody,We’d like to provide an update on this topic:Keep in mind that you can completely hide the Recents section with the new modular home layout on mobile:1. Open the Dropbox mobile app.2. Tap the customize icon (artist palette) 🎨3. To add or remove a default section, tap the toggle next to Recents, Starred, Camera Uploads, 4. Viewed links, Shared, or Offline.5. Tap Save to save your changes. You can find more info in here. Also, based on your comments, our team is working on improving the recents list update (when an item is deleted remotely). Thank you for sharing your feedback on this. We'll keep you in the loop for future features related to this.Sam

I am almost ready to quit dropbox if this issue on clearing the "recents" does not get fixed!!!

Marie, you stated that "the files that appear in your Dropbox are files that are anyway stored in your account". That's not true. I deleted a file from my Dropbox, but it still appears in the recent file list. Also, since it still appears I can open up the file even though it shouldn't even exist.

Got the same problem.
It not only shows the recently added or modified files.
BUT it also shows the recently watched files. And this is something I really don't want.
In short I don't even want the recently list at all.....

This post is more than 6 month old. Any progress? Dropbox people???
Should be a simple fix if one is interested to keep their customers

Just stopping by to say I'm about up to Here with this "feature". If I cannot disable it then at least give me a way to clear it. I use online file sharing for a myriad reasons, and I don't need previous lookups showing up first thing front and center on the app when I open it. Considering how long these questions have been asked by users, and also considering the inability to make or suggest a fix by the program authors I will make making a fix of my own soon... it is called Google Drive.
Once I switch I am not coming back, and I know a good number that are on the same page as well. Get it together folks.

I absolutely abhor the fact that you've decided to make my recent files list the first thing displayed when I open Dropbox.
Really? Why would you think this is a good idea to FORCE this behavior on users?
If anybody picks up my tablet and opens Dropbox, every document I'm working on is in easy reach.
Unless this changes quickly, my best best is to set up an Owncloud install and switch over to it.

It's been almost a year, I've not seen one user that likes the feature and so unfortunately it's reached the point where I'm starting to move all my stuff to alternate providers.
Thank you dropbox, you were a great pioneer but you guys really dropped a bollock on this and letting it drag on do long showed a complete disregard for your users.
Adios.

Obviously, many users dislike this feature. Why is this taking so long? I'm moving to Google Drive.

Give me a way to change the default folder. Dropbox probably has some self serving integrated future reason for defaulting to "recents", but this creates unnecessary hassle for users. It's also a personal privacy nightmare, especially for business, and even more so for long time users who are in the habit of opening dropbox in front of others/clients. Not a very well thought out mandatory, unnecessary change. Give users control!

Why does it take so long for a rather simple fix? Hello Dropbox your customers are complaining, so what do you do about it?
