- Hi everybody,We’d like to provide an update on this topic:Keep in mind that you can completely hide the Recents section with the new modular home layout on mobile:1. Open the Dropbox mobile app.2. Tap the customize icon (artist palette) 🎨3. To add or remove a default section, tap the toggle next to Recents, Starred, Camera Uploads, 4. Viewed links, Shared, or Offline.5. Tap Save to save your changes. You can find more info in here. Also, based on your comments, our team is working on improving the recents list update (when an item is deleted remotely). Thank you for sharing your feedback on this. We'll keep you in the loop for future features related to this.Sam

I have now moved all my files to Box. I'm keeping a dropbox account for the folders other people still share with me. With that, I'm signing out from this thread, expecting nothing from dropbox.

June 3rd 2016....... in case i was to stupid to pay attention, is there yet any cure for the recent default in this god-forsaken app? No. Wow.... I guess I'm not the stupid one.
I posted a request to revoke rights from these so called super users so the interfering stops and dropbox has to make a start with listening.

Main problem is to clear the recent file list, not the default view. Even they change the default view still not able to clear the recently view file list. What we are requesting is similar to clear recycle bin or clear the history.

I have files that I have stored in a private password protected folder appearing on my recent list. This is a massive security flaw.
Please fix ASAP, never had a problem with Dropbox until this. Going to have to delete my files and account if not resolved soon - Jason M.10New member | Level 2
Yet another +1 for giving users the ability to clear the RECENTS list, and/or prevent it from appearing at all.

Just want to add another voice to this thread. Frankly, as a software developer myself I am utterly amazed that a simple option to "clear recents list" hasn't been added by now - this must be 1 days development maximum, and the lack of such an option is, as others have said, a terrible oversight.
I bought an engagement ring a few weeks ago and took a photo of it, which then uploaded to Dropbox. My fiance had no idea, but when I right-clicked on the dropbox tray item while she was stood next to me, there it was for her to see. So that blew the surprise.
I know it's a trivial example, but there will be thousands of other such scenarios with potentially more serious consequences.

The forums are primarily user-supported. While a Dropboxer (that's a Dropbox employee) does post on occasion, it's not often... [snip]
While that might be true, Marie [dropboxer] answered the initial post after 8 hours, and repeatedly afterwards. Now the thread is 8 pages long, going back a year. I work with software development too, and when you have this amount of feedback - no matter the source (forums, tickets whatever) - it means you have an issue you need to take a look at.

I just came across this "recents" problem. I consider it a major problem that should have been eliminated years ago. The sheer lack of foresight is rather appalling given the nature of security concerns on the internet. If you design for cloud service, then such user interface problems ought be taken into consideration before roll out. I'd love to hear why someone thought having "recents" was a good idea.
